First visit to this picturesque Cumbrian inn. We visited in December. Freezing cold outside, but a very warm welcome inside. A real fire. Decked out for Christmas. Mulled wine and a mince pie for £6. Reasonable drink and food prices. My Dad and I both had the homemade burger, topped with pulled pork and cheese, triple cooked chips, coleslaw and a side salad. My Mum had the festive turkey pie with mashed potato. A good selection of gins, rums and real ales. Tea and coffee are available, as is afternoon tea. Very friendly staff. Off the beaten track, but definitely worth a visit.
What a gem of a place, a little off the beaten track, albeit a few miles from Penrith. Booked last minute to break my journey up to Scotland. Room was ok size, very comfy bed. Bathroom had very large towel radiator, a shower that didn't leak and was very powerful but most importantly a mirror that became steam free very quickly with built light easy to put my make up on, something lacking in most hotel rooms. Breakfast was absolutely great. A great selection for a full breakfast which was lovely. Found all staff really welcoming. Definitely recommend
Adult meals - great food, good size portions. Kids pizza not great... definitely not worth £7. Wishing she had picked the sausage and mash. Nice atmosphere, cosy! And, dog friendly!
Fab stay at The Globe whilst visiting our son and family who have just moved into the village. Wonderful meal in the evening. Lots of empty plates. Amazing cooked breakfast this morning. Thankyou gang. See you again soon.
Absolutely spot on with the food and service. My kids polished off even the vegetables saying they tasted so fresh and wonderful! Worth a detour from the M6 to take a tasty break!Service: 5/5
Great little Inn. Excellent staff and the good is very, very good. The rooms are fine, but room 3 was a little small for me. However, room 1 was great with a huge bathroom. Very quiet location.Rooms: 4/5
We have just had 2 lovely roasts here, food was fantastic, service was excellent and staff and locals very friendly. 5 * from us Food & drinks: Excellent, food, service and friendly people
Cosy wee pub. Food was superb along with the service. Hopefully able to visit again one day.

Great little pub, stopped off on the way to Scotland and had a great steak and blue cheese sandwich. Would stop again
