After a long day of trekking, this place lived up to its name! It was quite crowded around the main building and we did not have a reservation. The good news is that there is seating outside and we could get in the section partially closed to the wind. I love this place, but they needed to turn those heaters on today. I recommend looking at the menu before heading to the bar. You can order your drinks and food at the same time, as long as you can tell them generally where you are sitting. “Outside” was enough for our location. They found us. It’s well made pub food and really hits the spot. The local cider and lager were great accompaniments. We will certainly be back every time we are in Glenridding.
We went for an evening meal and a pint last week and we really enjoyed it. It is really cosy and warm, with a roaring log burner and rustic tables. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Worth a visit.
Lovely pub with a great view from the garden. Very dog friendly. Loads of vegan and gluten free choices.
Nice pub on the route to helvellyn. They have a nice outdoor seating area and friendly staff. Worth a visit if you’re passing through. Some local ales.
A pub with a beautiful view and, unfortunately, with poor food. In the summer you can sit outside with a beer and enjoy the view. The food.. unfortunately, nothing special.
Food was okay, friendly staff with a good selection of drinks, great outside seating area and if you are lucky enough you can see the fighter jets fly over the lake
This pub was just a short walk from where we were camping Side Farm Campsite. They serve food late, service was quick and the food was tasty. I had a nice cheese burger in a bun, salad and chips. There isn't loads of seating inside but plenty of outdoor seating and pretty lights. They have lots of benches that overlook the hills. A good pub, would definitely come again.
This is a regular stop for us when we visit the Lakes. Great food, good selection of ales and we got parked outside to save us the hike! Nice views too!
Friendly staff great location sometimes a big queue to get served, food was average but fairly priced , would definitely go back
Busy pub had a queue out the door on a day that wasn't nice weather. Beer was good. Some outside seats There are 2 bars in there, you can probably get served faster at the one on the left as you go in rather than queue for the main bar
