What a great place to visit excellent atmosphere, I had the 14oz gammon believe me you won't be hungry after this it was cooked to perfection everything on my plate was hot brilliant got to say the young man on table service who was from Glasgow what a great guy he was and a brilliant sense of humor, definitely go there again for a meal, remember if you go make sure your hungry. Well done to all staff including the chef.
Looks lovely outside and in. The staff are very attentive and pleasant. We visited the first time for a coffee and a tea. Another night we went there for an evening meal. To me it was the atmosphere of a lunch time. Bright lights, dogs in the pub, nothing different to make it a relaxing evening. It was around 20.15 and most food places closed their kitchen as did Pooley Bridge Inn at 20.30 so we just stayed. It was a Sunday night. We had the liver pate starter with toast and it was absolutely beautiful! Then we both had the steak pie and chips with veg. There was a lot of steak in the pie but I needed gravy as it was too dry for me. I don't like dry veg either. I was told there was no more gravy as the kitchen had closed. Guess that was also us being told we weren't having a desert! My other half had a pint of Moretti and I had a double pink gin and diet lemonade. Our bill was sixty something pounds which I felt wasn't worth the ambiance or the food. We won't rush back.
Fantastic pub, great food and beer. Staff are lovely and make you very welcome. First time visiting the Pub today and definitely not our last. If your in the area,, this is the Pub to visit. Many thanks to all the staff for a wonderful lunch and welcome,,, myself and wife & our four legged friend Lady Pup... all three of us were Very Wet & muddy, but this was no issue. The lady greeting you on your entrance, couldn't be nicer & instantly made us feel as if we were regulars.... Being a Robinson's ,, the Trooper went down easy,, Thanks guy's,,, sorry we didn't get name's, but bar staff and waitresses 10 out of 10.
Just stopped for the one night as a layover. Really pleased we chose this place! Room number 8, though I think they're all decorated the same was very smart, with modern yet extremely cosy touches. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever. Staff gave a warm welcome on arrival and were very helpful thereafter. Will definitely be staying here again.
Lovely place, really nice, quality rooms. Extremely friendly staff, really nice breakfast. Food looked good although we didn't eat, pricing was on the heavy side but all 3 pubs in a small area all about the same so not really much of a range in the area but is what it is.
Great setting and friendly staff. Sunday roast was very disappointing. Raw parsnips and carrots. I got one tiny Baton of carrot .... Roast potatoes had no hint of being roasted at all. Only saving grace that was the beef was good. For £15.95 I'd expect a more generous and better cooked roast.
A lovely place for a friends get together The rooms are so lovely.... clean, nicely decorated with comfortable beds We were in 2 family rooms and the views were great Great choice of teas and fresh coffee Food lovely, especially the breakfasts and service very friendly and prompt. Thanks for a memorable stay Will definitely hope to return What a great location too
Beautiful interior for dining. Excellent service and an appealing menu. I was pleased to find a small appetite/children's menu. I had ham, egg and chips and it was delicious and quite enough for me!Service: 5/5
It was very busy when we visited for our lunch but service was great and very quick. We sat outside in the sun and ordered via the app. Though our meals came before the drinks. I had ham, egg and chips. Chips and ham were delicious but the fried egg was cold and undercooked. I didn't complain as I was starving and wanted to tuck in . They're my only negatives! If it was cloudy we could have sat in a booth which had its own gas heater. We will definitely return, maybe to stay over.
The place is lovely and sitting next to the fire is a nice touch, but the food was a let down personally. Fish and chips could be so much better if served with real homemade chips. Macaroni and cheese was so bad. Basically pasta over cooked thrown in a bowl with not much cheese on top. Very watery and was not to sure if it was even cooked with truffle oil. No issues with staff and service.
