I tend to find that when staying at these chain hotels things are normally of a certain standard across the board. On this occasion however I was pleasantly surprised.nThe one thing that can never be guaranteed is the staff. I have to give a huge shout out to the fantastic Lauren on front desk. I don't think I have encountered such a friendly, bubbly and helpful person at any time, in anywhere I have stayed before. She is an absolute credit to the place and is the number one reason I would return again.nI saw her interactions with multiple guests and she was great with everyone.nThe hotel itself was as I already stated at an expected level but just the addition of such a fantastic member of staff has pushed marks up considerably.nThank you Lauren for all uou do. Please don't change and don't go anywhere. We look forward to you helping us get on the WiFi again next year. !!!!
Convenient for station and town centre. Rooms very clean. All staff pleasant, but Lauren is a legend! She is a great asset for the Travelodge company - superb rapport with guests! Breakfast very nice, and plenty of choice.
The staff I met were both lovely and the food was surprisingly nice.nnThe bedroom seemed clean, but the bathroom stank of stale urine. I used a piece of toilet paper to wipe the floor behind the toilet and it came up dirty yellow. Disgusting.nnSome of the other guests were distinctly rough around the edges and talked as though they lived there permanently?nnI would say as a solo female traveller, pay a bit more and stay somewhere else!
Stayed here for the RIAT wasnt expecting much all i needed was a bed and a shower. Rooms are very basic and no air-conditioning meant sleeping was a little difficult. The addition of a fan helped but was very noisy. Bathroom did smell a little from time to time. Swindon does appear to be a little rough around parts and some of the guests where a little rough around the edges but i experienced nothing bad. The ability to allow pets to stay i found really cool but unfortunately i heard a lot of barking through the night. Whatnstood out for me was the politness of the staff all of whom seemed very chatty knew the locals of the area well and all got along with each other which created a good vibe addition of a guiness surge machine meant the pint tasted decent. And food for the price you pay is nice enough. I would stay here again.
Stayed in 15thJuly, Would not stay here again, No shower to use, could not open the windows due to pigeons problems, on a hot sleepless night, without a shower the next day. I was told it was my problem, as I should have checked the shower the night before? I had a hot sweaty night of no sleep, so rested to the last possible minute, then got into the shower, and no water came out of the rose, but only 90deg to outlet all around....by that time I was running late, so no sleep, and no shower, and then they could not print a VAT receipt quickly, and told it was my fault for not checking the shower the night before? All I need is a good bed, good temp and a shower next morning, failed on all accounts.
