I wasn’t expecting much but I was really impressed. The outside is definitely dated, but the room was modern and spotlessly clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was incredibly comfy, the temperature in the room is easily adjustable and it was really quiet, so everything you need for a good night’s sleep. It’s a Travelodge, but a good one in a brilliant location
This place easily makes my top 3 worst hotels of all time. I arrived to an empty front desk and stood there for over 15 minutes like a lost soul waiting for someone—anyone—to answer the “ring for service” button which, apparently, is just for decoration.nnWhen I finally got checked in, I walked into what can only be described as a budget nightmare. The room looked nothing like the photos online—unless those photos were taken in an alternate reality. The TV was slightly larger than an iPad, the bed felt like a trampoline made of bricks, and the décor screamed “we gave up.”nnThen came the WiFi situation. You get 30 minutes free per day—as if it’s 2004—and then you have to pay £3.50 for 24 hours of what they generously call “internet.” I’ve seen faster speeds on dial-up. It took over five minutes to download a single app. Five. Whole. Minutes. I didn’t even know modern technology could move that slowly.nnIn short: if you’re looking for disappointment, discomfort, and prehistoric internet speeds, this Travelodge delivers in spades. Otherwise, stay anywhere else—even your car would be a step up. I recommend the Marriott chain.
The family room I am in is very good, I've been in other chains which are not as good as this place, I'm impressed well done!nnHad three rooms and spent 5 nights with bookings on the app. All rooms were good comfortable and the whole place is very clean, with good staff.nnWill post photos shortly.n---nUPDATE 20250108nAs good, they have robot Hoover's on the go, they are excellent at edge cleaning the corner room they gave me has two windows around the corner, there are likely to be two such rooms which are very spacious
Not a bad little spot, with a great location for wandering the main street. Hotel could use a little updating, but was more than expected for the price. Jean at the front desk was fabulous, and ready to help!
Room was tiny, yes there was a king sized bed but you could hardly walk round it! “On suite” also tiny, water pressure on taps & shower just a dribble. Ridiculously overpriced for a very basic room with a bed. Only booked as nowhere else available in the local area. Definitely would not recommend.
