The rooms are okayish, but the sheets were dirty and the water "pressure" is barely existing... Depending on your room number you have to find your way through a maze, which can cost you your head literally speaking, as there are constantly small stair cases, where you have to mind your head. The view from most of the rooms is on some sort of back alley. The staff of the evening shift was unfriendly, but the morning Shift was friendly. The location of the hotel close to the trainstation, the town center and the water ist good! The phones for room service are wild Rooms: The rooms are okayish, but the sheets were dirty and the water "pressure" is barely existing... Nearby activities: Taking the train to Mallaig is a good way to spend your time, especially for fans of Harry Potter, as you cross the famous viaduct. A nice little find in the centre of Fort William, with some definite problems for our room anyway. Beautiful view over the Loch and Caol, particularly in the morning. Had a standard double booked, checked in and sent up the labyrinthe of stairs. To be clear, if the room didn't have the problems below, this would be a stunner of a hotel, with a very different rating, especially for the price. Room had a rather funky smell as soon as we opened the door, but we were going straight out so didn't investigate. That evening, found that one of the two bedside lamps doesn't have anywhere to plug into, and the other is rusting and falling apart. The next morning, the shower wouldn't run unless you turned the hot tap on then off after starting the shower. And I found the smell. The wall facing the sea was mouldy, to quite a serious degree. There's an obvious defect where you can see water coming into the room, and the wall, curtains, and desk are all disgusting. Was checking out, so mentioned it on leaving, and the management didn't have a chance to fix anything while we were there. Edit: just found a review from 3 months ago, in what looks like the exact same room, with the same problems with the mould and the shower. Make of that as you will.
Clean and tidy bit dated and bath was a puzzle to work but we used the shower once we had worked out how to turn on hot water. Meals were OK just very repetative.Rooms: 4/5
I highly recommend it Location in a wonderful place, comfortable room with an amazing view of the lake. The breakfast was tasty and the price for 3 nights was not too expensive. See you Imperial Hotel next timeRooms: 5/5
Good location within Fort William to allow exploration of the town. Staff were polite and helpful. Rooms are a bit tired with lack of attention given to decorating - paint on switches and clear requirement of second coat - and cleanliness - stains on wall. Most disappointing was the lack of hot water in the morning, meaning no full shower. When raised at reception, I was not alone. No partial refund or other concession was offered!
3 of us went here for dinner a couple of weeks ago. The food unfortunately didn't arrive at the same time. After a lot of waiting, 1 of us was brought our meal, but 2 of us left sitting for around 15/20 mins before ours was finally brought out. Now the food itself was really nice, just a shame about the long wait and food not coming out together.
Booked this hotel because most others were fully booked. I stayed for three nights and there was black mold on the ceiling above the bed, all over the walls, the curtains, the furniture near the moldy walls, and in the bathroom. I only had hot water in the shower once, and other than that it was two days of cold showers. The location is good considering proximity to the high street and the station, nice to see a view out the window, but most places around here have a spectacular view. For this price, mold, and hot water I would not be back.
The outside of this hotel was inviting, it looked freshly maintained. You enter the large lobby and see a nice lounge area and beautiful little bar. In the bedroom the bathroom was freshly installed and beautiful…….. these are the only positives…..ONLY positives Disliked · The bedroom was maybe once nice, but hadn’t been maintained in years. The walls were stained and covered in marks resembling mildew that someone had tried to wipe off with a baby wipe. Around the small sing bed was a large head board made from faux leather that was discoloured and had been clearly damaged by fire. The room I was in was adjacent to a late night bar/club called the crofter where ridiculously loud music played until 2am, thumping, bass and screaming voices filled my room.
Lovely room ,reception very nice ,room is warm and clean and staff are very helpful ,the food is lovely would recommend sirloin and mussels in cream sauce, also breakfast is lovely Rooms: Lovely clean and warm
Hotel is strategically ideal for all aspects of tourism. The food was exceptional as were staff. Best food we've had in a hotel for ages!! Food & drinks: We had choices from Indian, italian and British food just amazing
