What an absolutely delightful place and incredible hosts. We adored our stay at Ardblair, in no small part due to Conny and René. We were given a warm welcome upon check-in, shown to our beautiful room the Pink Room, and given excellent advice about local spots. We stayed 2 nights here and they flew by. Conny prepared a wonderful vegan breakfast for us each morning, and René provided the entertainment his wonderful stories!. We were thankful for our stay and glad to take their advice, which enhanced our visit to Scotland in no small measure. I hope to visit again someday, it was truly a delight. Rooms: Lovely Victorian rooms, tastefully decorated and classic. The bed was incredibly comfortable! Walkability: Very close to High Street Fort William, shops, bars, and restaurants. Food & drinks: Wonderful vegan breakfast, I really appreciated their care. Unfortunately none of the porridge I had after Conny's was as good, her breakfast set the standard!
I was excited to stay at this B&B as all the reviews were very positive. Our experience was not the best. There are better places to stay in Fort William for the same price. The room was clean and comfortable but the bathroom was a disaster. The owner is friendly only from 3pm check in to 10am check out. If you need any help from them a little before check in time or after check out time, you are on your own. I was doing the West Highland Way and hurt my knee the day before the hike to Fort William. I arrived in Fort William by bus and went to the B&B at 2pm one hour before check in. I mentioned to the owner that my knee was hurt and asked if I could wait at the front porch until it was time for the check in. He said: ‘No, there is no room for you. Go to the pub and come back later’. Unfortunately we rely on reviews when we are visiting the city for the first time and choosing a place to stay. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
My boyfriend and I stayed in the Golden Room for two nights. It was beautiful, wonderful views from the room and the owners were lovely. Thank you Conny for the lovely breakfasts and thank you Rene for being our tour guide to Scotland. After some suggestions we took a day trip to the Isle of Skye and then went off to Glasgow on our way home we did go on the Mural walk. We will hopefully see you in Fort William again! We enjoyed the Indian Tandoori Spice and the Grog and Gruel pub both a short walk away!
I spent two nights here and loved it. The room was very charming and the hosts friendly and hospitable. You have to take some stairs to get to Main Street, but there not bad.Rooms: 4/5
We stayed at the Ardblair BnB after hiking the West Highland Way and it was fantastic. We were able to get an upgrade to the Golden Room and we really enjoyed taking a bath in the bathtub :-. The hosts are very friendly and the breakfast was nice, too. We totally recommend Ardblair!Rooms: 5/5
Conny and Rene are great host, We got the Golden Room which has a great Loch view as advertised. Bathroom is spacious and clean, just the shower is a bit difficult in a traditional style bathtub where we were aware of at booking. Mattress is comfort where we could have a nice rest after a long drive from Skye. Less than 5 min walk to Fort William high street, and train station is about 10 min away. Conny provided a good advice for having a look the Harry Potters Train at the station instead of beating the crowd at Glenfinnan Viaduct view point where we needed to drive back and forth if we did so. In addition, his advice to visit Glen Etive to explore James Bond sky fall filming location on the way back to Edinburgh is great. Choices of breakfast was generous and delicious. There is also a small bottle of complimentary Scotch we guessed whisky provided in room. Direct booking to the hotel is competitive and very responsive. They don't request for any deposit...which provides maximum flexibility.
Our stay at the Ardblair house was extremely pleasant. Conny and René are very welcoming and attentive hosts. They gave us a ton of ideas for daytrips and provided us with an excellent breakfast every morning. We woke up to the fantastic view of the master bedroom over Fort William and the Loch. The experience was priceless and we will definitely come back!
We stayed one night at Ardblair this summer, and it was marvellous. Conny and Rene are the best in the world, there's no words to express how kind and willing to help they were. Rooms were big, gorgeous and romantic, with fantastic views towards the lake. Breakfast was well cooked and nicely prepared. I've recently received a Christmas from them how nice!.. Definitively, Ardblair is best place to stay and to enjoy the scottish way of life. p.d: Sorry if this text contains errors, it's not my mother tongue.
This is a beautiful place to stay. It's close enough to Glencoe, Ben Nevis, Glenfinnan, etc. Just a short walk to town but be prepared for the hills to get back up! The view is amazing from the front. Conny and Rene are incredibly welcoming and helpful. They regularly gave us suggestions on what to do in the area. And Conny was even willing to do a bit of laundry for us. We did have some trouble getting the shower to the right temperature seems like there plenty of hot water, though! And the wifi didn't get good signal in our room, but when you spend most of your day exploring, that's not a significant issue. All in all, a good place to stay!
Nice, quiet neighborhood. House is beautiful. Rooms are comfortable. Hosts, Conny and Rene, are wonderful. Very convenient to town.
