Great location, excellent value, staff were very nice and offered to check us in early. You do have to pay for parking but its not too expensive for how little parking there is on the street. Room was clean and bed was comfy to sleep in
It's one of the worst hotels I've stayed in, and never again will I stay here. Where shall I start....Check in very quickly and easily and only had a meal in the cafe once but wasn't impressed what was on offer. Very basic and small menu. Premier Inn has more choice. The breakfast however was ok. Buffet style although the first morning, there was no cooked breakfast until 7.30. I went down just after 7.15. The hotel itself is very outdated. I found many faults with my room with many dents as included in the pictures and as for being on the 1st floor, I had to have my curtains closed as there was no nets on the windows plus my room was right by the kitchen equipment so very noisy up till 10pm each night. When it rained, the guttering seemed to be blocked, so it was like Niagara Falls. So if you like basic, cheap and creaking floorboards, then this hotel will be good for you but for me, never....nnUpdate: Having complained to customer services about the situation, all I got back was £35 compensation for the blocked guttering, let alone all the other issues with the room. I would definitely won't be coming back to this hotel again. I'd rather stick with Premier inn who I know will get a good night's sleep
The same as all Travelodge. We have stayed several times in those hotels around the UK while traveling. Budget hotel as it is. The rooms were small, but it was okay for us as we stayed mostly at night. Friendly stuff. The best part about Thistle Hotel is the location. Next to the beach and all necessary stores/restaurants close by. There are plenty of free parking spots around
1 star for a number of reasons main on being it's advertised as having a carpark but can probably accommodate less than 30 cars tightly, for a hotel that probably has in excess of 80 rooms means most of the time you're going to have to find parking elsewhere, we arrived at 4pm and I drove around for in excess of 40 minutes to find an on road parking space.nnThe room was clean, the shower was awful, the TV wasn't able to be angled to the bed. The hotel smelt like a rabbit hutch in common areas and our room was situated above the kitchen vent air conditioning thing. A travel lodge is a travel lodge, I've stayed in many and will stay in others when the price is right, but this didn't stand out to me as a particularly good one and certainly not on I'd stay in again when I visit Bournemouth.
I would never recommend this travelogue to anyone after the infuriating experience I had. I stayed on August 24th, 2024, in room 412 with my family spouse and two kids, and it was the worst experience I've ever had.nnI paid £163 for a non-refundable one-night stay, with check-in at 3 pm. By 4 pm, I received a call from reception asking if I was coming or not, so they could give my room to someone else. Considering my booking was non-refundable, it was outrageous and completely unacceptable that they even made this call.nnTo make matters worse, the hand wash and hair/body wash bottles in my room were so damaged that they were unusable. When I reported this to the staff, they casually mentioned that they would raise a complaint to fix it in 2-3 days. My stay was only for one night, yet they offered no replacement or solution.nnAdditionally, there was no hair dryer in the room, and there weren't even enough towels for a family of four. This level of service is absolutely disgraceful.nNot possible to get parking here
