We stayed for one night. The room and bathroom was very clean, the bed was so comfortable with one soft pillow and one firmer, with spare pillows in the wardrobe. Beautiful soft white towels. Reception staff and manager so so welcoming friendly happy, Nicky and Hope in the cafe again so warm and friendly and hard working, it was such a pleasurable stay. Will definitely stay again. Compliments to the housekeepers cleaning the rooms to a high standard, to reception who were very helpful, to the cook who's breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day, and the cafe staff keeping everything clean and in order. If I could give 10 stars I would.
I have been staying at this hotel annually, but unfortunately, this year's visit was very disappointing. The room was in a dismal state, with the carpet stained and appearing extremely unhygienic, particularly concerning with children walking around without shoes. The duvet had an unpleasant, distinctive smell, though luckily, the warm weather meant we didn’t need to use it much. However, when my son accidentally pulled out the flat sheet while climbing onto the bed, we were horrified to discover a massive brownish stain. It was as if the hotel staff assumed it would be hidden and didn’t bother to replace it. The bathroom floor was also unclean, adding to the overall discomfort of our stay. What used to be a highlight of our trips, due to its perfect location and convenient parking, has now turned into a major letdown. This year, I couldn't wait to leave as I didn't feel comfortable in the room at all. On the day of our departure, the corridor had a strong smell of cannabis, which my kids were exposed to every time we stood on the landing—certainly not the environment you expect in a family-friendly hotel. We had also requested a cot upon arrival, only to be told that we should have requested it during the booking process. The staff made no effort to check if one could be located, giving the impression they were just going through the motions rather than genuinely attending to guests' needs. Sadly, the standard of this hotel has been declining over the years, and I can no longer recommend it. I will be looking for alternative accommodation in the area for future visits.
Parking.... There are 2 free car parks to use, one smaller right outside the hotel and one larger just a short walk away. No issues with parking. Staff were so lovely, very polite and engaging. Rooms were OK, typical travel Lodge room. Beds were not comfy backache every morning. The showers......on the first night they were cold. The next morning luke warm and the 2nd day back to normal. This was a huge downer because we all love a hot shower at the end of the day and to wake us up right?! Dinner was awful. I couldn't cut through the chicken, it was so dry. It doesn't look bad in the picture but believe me.... Avoid. Ended up walking down to the fort shopping and having a harvester the next night. There's loads to choose from at the shopping place... Nandos, harvester, McDonald's, five guys defo worth going there. It's a 15 min walk or 2 minutes in the car with lots of parking. Breakfast was OK. Typical full English and fruit, porridge, bagels ect There's 10 floors and 2 lifts. One of which wasn't working. You also need your key card to get onto your floor. I had to have mine reset 4 times in the 2 nights which is frustrating. Location is great and if this hotel had a few tweaks it would be perfect Rooms: Typical travel lodge room. Showers unpredictable. Beds.... Awful!!!! Walkability: 15 minutes away from the fort shopping with lots of food places and retail Food & drinks: Avoid dinner..... Really needs a review of the food. It was inedible. Breakfast was ok
The rooms are casual and comfortable however I had no hot water for my stay. When I told reception they said I had to wait for 10 other rooms to complain before they would send anybody to fix it. Still no hot water in the morning, very disappointingRooms: 4/5
Hotel is a standard Travelodge with good facilities. Free parking is a bonus although the car park is quite small but parking is available in the opposite car park which uses a token system that can be validated at reception. The room itself was spacious but definitely lacked plug sockets for charging devices in the bed area extensions were across the room to facilitate this, not ideal. The hotel is very clean and tidy and the staff are all very friendly and welcoming The only downsides are it’s position is under the flight path of the nearby airport so the planes are regularly heard and its location is a little way out from the city which in some way is great if you don’t want the bustle Overall would stop again though Rooms: Room was spacious but a definite lack of plug sockets meaning extensions were needed to charge devices
Other than location this hotel was top tier, managed to enjoy some quiet evenings with my girlfriend without being interrupted. Only issue sound wise was due to proximity to the airport it could get decently loud with planes, and we were unfortunate with some idiots racing their cars outside - but cheap WiFi and staff were friendly when down in the Hotel Bar. Didn’t participate in breakfast because we were busy but the spread looked good. Rooms: Rooms are nice, beds are a bit squeaky though ; Nearby activities: Decent shopping outlet nearby with some good restaurants and stores. Safety: Desk was unattended a lot of the time, I suppose anyone could walk in and go up the elevator at any time but this wouldn’t be a problem because each floor is guarded by keycard locks the same as used on each room Noteworthy details: You’ll likely spend a fair bit on Uber
Honestly had a fantastic experience here. I will start with easy check in, free parking, clean rooms. But the real reason I want to leave this review is I went to the restaurant right before closing and they insisted to serve me even after they were closed. Great service!! The cook was amazing and came out with a good attitude even though he his shift was done. Great food and a cool little quiet spot. Next to the lambo dealer in a good part of town, highly recommend this place if you like quality for a good price!! Super friendly as well!! Shout out to jamma the cook who had a great attitude and did an amazing job!! Walkability: Close to restaurants and businesses.
Was checked in by someone called Mitchell and the customer service was absolutely amazing, he was ever so nice and helpful. The room was 10/10 and the location is in a nice place with good parking Rooms: Room was nice and spacious Nearby activities: Fort shopping centre not far
When I came back to my room the beds had been redone which I thought was fantastic, however when I soon realised that my sleep headphone I rested slightly under the quilt had completely disappeared I assume they scooped up all the sheets without checking or I hope that's the case I was very confused. I spoke to a woman who was lovely and she took my details saying a manager would call me back and get more details they never did and I had to call them myself and either post them out to me if they found them or give me some form of compensation. When I spoke to the person on the phone they now have said they can't give me any compensation and they did not find them. I'm fairly annoyed to be fair, and I wish they could have just taken the small amount of time to check.
What can I say, not the best location and the rooms fit is 100%. My shower did not work properly, bed was not clean. Rooms was boiling hot. I cab definitely say something a feast on.me in the room.Rooms: 2/5
