We spent six hours here and easily could have spent six more. So much to see and do. Even the cafe was good, with an excellent array of food choices. The cakes were fantastic. The white tower was amazing with the armor and weapons collections. The Crown Jewels are simply breathtaking. I advise to get your entry tickets for first thing in the morning. Once past security make your way directly to the Crown Jewel display. If you wait until later in the day you will be in long lines that can take hours and…. Once inside it can be packed. However you do it…. It is worth it. The only drawback is that photos are not allowed in the Crown Jewel area.
Excellent visit, first time visiting the Tower, loved it. It was very busy, but everything went smoothly, I can't believe how big it is, set on several levels, there are a great many stairs to climb, some quite tight, but worth the effort. I left there wondering how the people who would have lived there years ago managed it while they were wearing armour and swords. They must have been fairly fit, I guess. And of course, younger than me.
It was quite an interesting experience! The men who work and live there were very informative and humorous! Lots of rich history! The fish and chips at one of the cafes were reasonably priced and very tasty, although I did not care for the tartar sauce.Visited onWeekdayWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedNot sure
So much bigger and so much more to see than I realized. They have guided tours by the beefeaters which was amazing. You can see the royal jewels but also tons of cool weaponry and exhibits on the prisoners that were housed there as well as the mint. Lots of food options around to pick from and a great gift shop.Visited onWeekdayWait time10–30 minReservation recommendedYes
Thoroughly enjoyed the free guided tour by one of the Beef eaters. The 45 minute guided tour was the highlight. It's a rather small fort with big history. The crown jewels and other stuff looted from the colonies are on a vagrant display. Museum of looted wealth rather. Highly recommended for the 1000 old history.Visited onWeekdayWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedYes
This castle is absolutely amazing and a must visit if you come to London. It's huge with a ton of different areas to visit and museums within to see. Not all areas are accessible to the public, but that's okay because there are plenty of places to visit. Make sure to give yourself a few hours here, and be prepared to conquer some stairs!
I was really looking forward to visiting the Tower of London, as it's such a beautiful and historic landmark. Unfortunately, the long queues of tourists over the weekend made it impossible to get in. It was disappointing to miss out on such a must-visit site, especially knowing all the rich heritage and fascinating stories it holds. I'll definitely plan better next time to ensure I get the chance to explore it. Purchasing a entry ticket in advance is recommended
Arrived at 9.30am and it was already busy, read previous reviews so was aware to arrive early and head straight for the crown jewels, wasn't disappointed they were stunning however it was chaos, too many people in a small space even at that time of the morning. Nice to see the White Tower and the Military section. Wear comfy shoes.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Great half day out and right on the Thames for restaurants, bars and longer walks. Only disappointment was that some of the original floor etc has been covered with walkways, and we love a historical original building. We also have an interest in castle dungeons, and they don't really have anything for you to see on that front other than information boards and replica items. Nevertheless a great day out
Buy tickets online and get a better price and the time you want. Spots sell out early. Would highly recommend going to the tower if in London. Great piece of history and architecture. Tour is really well done and lines move along fairly quickly.Visited onWeekendWait time10–30 minReservation recommendedYes
