Excellent. It was an amazing experience. It was a gift from my best friend and we had champagne with bar snacks type stuff. I really enjoyed the views but didn't like the cocktails so had a different drink. It was a dark day in London but still got to see London in all its moody splendour.
My wife and I booked an afternoon tea through groupon at Vertigo 42. Everything went very smoothly and the check in process was effortless ! We were immediately served our champagne followed by our food and lastly our tea. We had a great time and for the price we cannot complain much about our date all! You pay for the view which is fantastic and then the rest is a bonus. I would say if you are going for the afternoon tea voucher do not expect it to substitute a proper meal. The sandwiches were very average but we did enjoy the scones and dessert. Must do when in London. Would bring friends and family for the expierence ! Well worth it.
Well, the views are worth going for. Very unpleasant, scratched walls take you to ling, thin, corridors. However, initial experience of security, who was rude and there was no female security, I had to be 'scanned ' by male security. He was rude and mumbly. Then, we finally got upstairs and staff was pleasant enough at that point and polite took our coats and then you finally get to see those breathtaking views. We got in early and been sat down as it wasn't too busy. Cocktails were brought by hand, rather than on a tray, it's an awkward sitting in front of the massive glass windows. But well. We had a champagne cocktail and a platter to share. It was ok. Nice cheese and nice touch of crunchy nuts on the salami. I understand that it's about views, staff comes and hoovers after each client leaving which we found odd. It spoils the ambience, somehow. Nice enough music, but our immediate 'neighbour' were very noisy. Overall an average experience, tbh. I think sky garden and the Shard are better.
Nice views, suitable for couples but not ideal for groups as the seating is all along the windows to make the most of the views I guess. You are backed by a mirror behind you maybe to make up the fact that the bar is narrow all the way round. Platter well presented
Love this place, they offer a beautiful afternoon tea for two or sharing platter amongst other dishes available to order, stunning views of London, Great for a catch up and glass of Champagne or cheeky cocktail @chaybix
Great views all around the Bar but especially love the views of St Paul's and across to the Shard. Champagne bottles start at around 50 quid or glasses around 8 quid. Considering the Shard is 30 quid per person to go up it's good value really. Really enjoyed the views.
Afternoon tea, service and view was amazing! They really took our needs into consideration to ensure they provided the best service. The afternoon tea was very tasty - especially the warm, soft scones! Highly recommend, whether its a girly catch up to a date/birthday/anniversary etc!
Security guy at the entrance was really rude. The entrance definitely needs to be refurbished walls are all scratched, gloomy corridor. Breathtaking views ! Champagne flutes were brought by hand, I found this really unprofessional. Service for the afternoon tea was quite slow. You sit really close to other people as well.. Good experience for the view but I wouldn’t go back.
Amazing views over London and definitely worth having the experience enjoying this with cocktails and a sharing platter at a special offer. As they only do highteas and cocktails the seating arrangement barstool like seats is alongside the windows facing the city and beyond. Not the most comfortable hence 4 stars not 5.
Nice views mostly west and north direction views, very limited south view, no east view, only window-facing tables, good service, decent snacks and nice cocktails for relatively relevant "42nd floor" price. Easy booking, good availablity.
