Lovely little country pub that gives a vibe of excellence before you even walk in the door. Mind your heard in the way in but then greeted by the perfectly decorated country gastronomic pub. Great atmosphere on a Wednesday night. My rib-eye was cooked perfectly and the homemade twice cooked chip together with the beef dripping jus was a thing of absolute beauty. A good find and a great experience.

Always a warm and welcoming atmosphere at the Woolpack. Good variety of food on the menu. On this occasion the food was simply delicious, well presented, hot and served promptly by our friendly and attentive waiter. Overall a positive dining experience.

Called in on a whim on the way back from Stoke Mandeville. Very nice. Menu had some interesting dishes with plenty of nibbles and starters. Loved the 2 courses and a bottle of wine to share offer menu, but was disappointed that as only one of us had this menu there was no wine on the alternative drink selection (cocktails and beer are great but I would have been happier with a glass of wine with food) Staff all very nice and accommodating. Would visit again.

Been twice now on a Saturday night, both times booked for 8pm and table was ready an hour later, yet if you're late they say they will only hold the table for 15mins. Booked using online system. Food was ok, but my burger was cold. I'm sure when it's quieter is better

Having been to the Woolpack many times (only in the evening) and had lovely meals my daughter booked it for yesterday for my 70th birthday lunch It was disappointing ! Two of the children waited for their main courses for about ten minutes after the rest, the adults main courses were not up to standard My fishcakes were overcooked the gammon and eggs were hard ! At the dessert nobody told us which were the kids brownies and which were adults for the mini dessert and all coffees were only lukewarm We were seated in a good part of the restaurant for the children and the ambience is always good It was the food that let it down after having so many excellent meals there.
