Cycling in the area and this was a good spot on the route to have lunch. Opted for simple to calorie up for the afternoon. Carved ham, egg and chips hit the spot with local Rebellion ale to was it down with. Limited tables for casual dining.

The underfloor heating is a great feature on a very frosty day! Combine that pleasure with excellent food and fine ales and draught cider and this becomes a great place to stop!

Rapidly going downhill. No atmosphere. Can't say what the food is like now but footfall has dropped off.

If I could give no stars I would. Just had the worst Xmas meal or any meal in a pub in my life and I'm sixty two. Even visually before we tasted it it looked like something you would get served in prison - although probably you would get miles better in Wormwood! It was cold, thick slabs of pre bought already stuffed trukey - everything was beige. Pigs in blankets the size of giant cucumbers, cold veg, and roast potatoes that were green and black with no roasting...... appalling
