This is one of the most thoughtfully curated museums I’ve ever visited. Located in the heart of London, the Wallace Collection offers an impressive mix of art, history, and culture. Having visited many museums around the world, I can say it stands out for the quality of its displays and the way the collection is presented.nnThe galleries feature a wide range of paintings featuring famous painters such as Rembrandt and Rubens, furniture, armor, and decorative arts, with each room offering something unique. The collection is rich in history and well worth exploring.nnAfter touring the museum, the tea room is the ideal spot for a break. Located in the covered courtyard, it’s a peaceful place to enjoy afternoon tea I personally enjoyed the English Black Tea and Peppermint Tea!.
The Wallace Collection is a hidden gem in the city. It’s a national museum that houses amazing masterpieces of painting, sculpture, furniture, arms, and porcelain. It also has a wonderful restaurant and café. Helpful Hint: The museum is open 7 days a week and is free to the public. Enjoy the works of art and stop mid-way for a light lunch or afternoon tea. In addition, there is a highlights tour at 2:30 PM.
A beautiful museum it’s sad it’s taken me so long to visit. If you like French/ European interiors and decor, this place is for you. Such an elegant and peaceful place with fine art on show. I visited the restaurant for lunch too and it was okay nothing special. Not a bad lunch but not the best I’ve had.
The Wallace Collection is a hidden gem in London, offering an exquisite display of art, furniture, and armor housed in a stunning historic mansion. The collection is beautifully curated, featuring masterpieces by artists such as Titian, Rembrandt, and Velázquez, alongside intricate French furniture and impressive displays of medieval and Renaissance armor. The setting, Hertford House, adds to the experience with its elegant rooms and peaceful ambiance. Admission is free, making it a perfect spot for art lovers to explore at their own pace. It’s a must-see for anyone interested in fine art and history, offering a quiet and enriching escape in the heart of the city.
Lots of Nice art work by some great painters like Rembrandt and Canaletto. The house the gallery is in is stunning and the lit chandeliers make it look amazing.nIt's just a shame about some of the room stewards.... some talked very loudly about their knitting. And another staff member followed me room to room ...nOverall a good free gallery.
