Located at 221B Baker Street, London, the Sherlock Holmes Museum is a must-visit for mystery lovers and fans of classic English literature. This charming three-story Victorian townhouse recreates the home and investigation rooms of the world’s most famous detective, Sherlock Holmes, as imagined by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.nnOnce you step inside, it feels as if time has stopped in the late 19th century.nThe first floor features a cozy gift shop offering themed souvenirs—magnifying glasses, notebooks, pins, and editions of the novels.nnThe second floor recreates Holmes and Dr. Watson’s living quarters, complete with a fireplace, pipe, newspapers, and walking stick—so realistic that it feels like they’ve just stepped out.nOn the third floor, wax figures and set pieces bring several classic cases to life, allowing visitors to relive key moments from the stories.nnThough small, every corner is rich in atmosphere and attention to detail. The creaky wooden stairs, dim lighting, and faint scent of old paper create a nostalgic immersion. Staff members, dressed in Victorian attire, add to the authenticity and happily explain the history behind each display.nnFor Sherlock Holmes fans, this isn’t just a museum—it’s an invitation to step directly into the detective’s world.
Lovely small museum the tickets in my opinion are too expensive for the size of the museum. You do not have a guided tour. Only a person talking a bit on the ground floor. The ladies at the other floors did not say much not even a welcome or hello. The souvenir shop has nice things you can’t video only take photos. You can pay with card or cash.
The Sherlock Holmes Museum is an absolute must-visit for fans of the famous detective. The house at 221B Baker Street is beautifully recreated, full of authentic details and memorabilia that bring Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s stories to life.nnThe staff are friendly and in character, which makes the experience even more immersive. Walking through the different rooms feels like stepping straight into the world of Sherlock and Dr. Watson.nnIt’s a charming and unique museum that captures the spirit of the stories perfectly. Highly recommended for both fans of the books and anyone interested in a piece of London’s literary history!
As a huge fan of the author and the series in general, I was absolutely thrilled to finally be able to visit the museum!!! It’s such a charming place, filled with themed decorations that make you feel like you’ve stepped right into the pages of the book. A real dream come true for any Sherlock Holmes fan, loved it.
Great place to visit if your a fan of Sherlock Holmes! The tour guide gave a great introduction at the start then your free to look around by yourself and explore. Me and my son really enjoyed the museum and the gift shop next door has some great memorabilia and books that you can purchase.nHighly recommended!
