I am so grateful for the individualised care that has been shown to my nervous dog. He used to have to be examined from a distance in the car. He can now bravely walk into vets, sit in reception and be seen in a consultation room. Special thanks to Jessica, Robyn I hope that's the right name and the reception team for building up a relationship with my dog. Jessica has given us a lot of her time to listen to symptoms and try different treatments for allergies. She has a very approachable, gentle approach with our dog and we always leave well informed. I am so grateful to you all for making the vet experience actually an enjoyable one for our dog.
The veterinary centre were great when my dog Sadie had to have minor surgery. The reception staff are very welcoming and patient, the nurses very attentive and reassuring, and the vets themselves also inspire confidence. I have to admit I'm an anxious dog mum, but the vets were very patient with all my questions. Everyone looked after Sadie really well, thank you.
I am very dissatisfied with this clinic because to this day I do not know what he is suffering from. My dog is not the first time I have been misled. In addition, they deceived me. They told me that they would fulfill my claims and it turned out that the claims from Tesco are not done by them. They charged me £23 annual fee and did not return this amount. The claims are being delayed. In addition, they want me to pay the fee for the treatment right away, when it is clearly written in the claims that I do not have to pay the fee and the refund is redirected to the vet. Previously, when I made the claims myself, I had the refund after two days. Currently, I have been waiting for almost a month for the vet to make a claim and send it to Tesco, which I paid for, the bill for my dog's treatment has also been settled. They keep offering me some very expensive tests and they still do not know what is wrong with the dog. I am very disappointed with this clinic, they have let me down once again. the worst thing about this clinic is that every time a different doctor takes care of your dog and each one says something different, they prescribe you medicine for a disease that doesn't exist and they don't treat the actual disease, so you have to go to the clinic again, pay for the consultation and take new medicine. I'm not a doctor or a specialist in this field, so how can I know that the doctor who examines my dog will use the wrong treatment or make a wrong diagnosis, I don't go there to make my dog suffer, but to make sure that my dog is being treated properly and is under good care.
Corporate vet clinic who only care about the money and not about your pet. I had been with this practice for many years until recently. I took my french bulldog for an appointment after he had been drinking a lot more than usual. After being told he would need bloods I agreed and was told verbally by the vet my bill in total would be £235. I paid this bill at reception at which point they sent me a receipt for the £235. Next day I receive an email saying I was undercharged and that I now owe an additional £16.50! I called the practice and the receptionist said she didn’t know why I was charged an additional £16.50 but the manager would call me back. The manager called me a day later and said the vet hadn’t added something on that she should have done so I did indeed owe another £16.50. I explained this was unprofessional as I had paid the original bill I was given, and that you can’t simply just add things onto a bill after the customer has left and then expect them to pay that. So they gave me 50% off the £16.50 and said that’s all they could do because they were owned by a corporation now so had to answer to higher powers. I would say since around a year ago this vet has changed drastically. They try to upsell you like your in a car sales room! I went in to get my other bulldogs annual vaccination and was given a sales speech about allergies and how my dog should get an injection for allergies because his notes said he had suffered from allergies in the past! Stay clear unless your happy to have a corporate approach to caring for your family pets.
I phone the vet centre for some help with a lost cat at the weekend. The person I spoke to was really caring and helpful. The surgery definitely went above and beyond my expectations with their help. I would say they have a real love for animals and anyone can be assured of their sympathetic caring approach to any situation.
*Would not recommend if you feed your dog raw* As previous clients, we had mixed experiences. Some positive experiences with really caring, lovely vets, others quite harsh and blaming. Our main take away was that as a practice, they are against raw feeding. We were charged extra, without being informed, following our female’s spay procedure - simply because of our dog being raw fed the vets were never asked to manage any of her food. I wouldn’t recommend here if your dog eats raw food.
Don’t recommend. We were there 7 minutes late for an appointment with my very frightened cat and they simple said that I had lost and there was not other possibility. However we saw the vet coming to receive another patient during our consultation time-period just at the moment we arrived. The fact that they not even tried to help us giving that the vet was already seeing the next patient is very frustrating. This was not focused on my pet wellbeing at no point as my cat is very afraid of people and she was shaking all the way to the centre.
Stay as far away as possible from this now, awful practice. I have loyally stayed with this vet for over 10 years, even moving from west end 4 years ago, i stayed with them. I have noticed a big change in last year, receptionist are rude and unpleasant, none of the old vets are still there. Today I was 7 mins late for an 8:45am appointment with what has been a very poorly puppy for 5 weeks. She’s been hospitalised and unable to gain weight. Needless to say her urine infection hasn't even been followed up by the practice either. Today she was due her 3rd vaccination after numerous delays due to her poor health. There was not a single person/animal in the surgery reception when i arrived 7 mins late due to heavy traffic on crow rd. Before even reaching the reception desk I was told to just stop right there as my appointment was no longer available to me. To say I was shocked and angry is an understatement! I sat down and said i wanted to speak to the vet. The vet wouldn’t come and speak to me. I had to call 3 times to ask for a callback and on the 2nd call the receptionist said “our vet won’t be calling you, just make your complaint via email!! I refused and told her i wanted a call back from someone senior. I also believe i was wrongly charged for initial consultation/vaccines and discussed this with receptionist twice after being hounded by calls from them. I eventually gave in and paid it the extra charge. Leslie the ‘Clinical Director’ called me at 7pm tonight after I requested a call at 9am, 12:45pm and 4pm today having left the surgery with my unwell/underweight completely disregarded puppy. I was personally treated very poorly, the puppy...no duty of care. I have never in my life experienced, in a clinical settling, treatment like this. This vet centre has changed so much, none of the old vets are there anymore. It’s also no longer on the Vet School panel so you can’t attend there in an emergency. In addition to today’s fiasco. On taking Lily in for her first vaccination at 10 weeks the vet told me she was too small to microchip!!!! She recommended waiting till she was dressed and getting it done under anaesthetic. I said no that would be too long. She then said it could be done at her next vaccine then. It was never done. Leslie told me today that the notes say that I said i wanted to wait until she was bigger! This is a complete load of absolute rubbish. The vet said she was too small. Total nonsense. My sister has Lily’s sister and her vet chipped her immediately on first visit the day after we picked them up. I was very kindly taken on today by a vets in Bearsden and given an appointment at 6pm where i have registered both my dogs now. The vet there said it was illegal for the vet not to microchip Lily if this had in fact not been done by the breeder. She is also concerned about her weight and potentially another UTI and put her on probiotics and special diet. I am still furious. Leslie when he called wasn’t in the slightest bit sorry about how we had been treated or conduct of his staff. The best he could muster was he was sorry that I was angry! Stay as far away from this vets as possible. It has sadly turned into a money making machine due to demand over last 4 years. They do not care nor consider their duty of care towards animals. I am making a full complaint to the RCVS of professional negligence.
We had a mini emergency yesterday and I cannot praise the staff enough, the girls on reception, the nurses and the vets - they dealt with my dog swiftly and expertly, they were also very good at handling two tearful and worried owners! I’ve been with this practice for five years and I can honestly say I’ve never had a complaint, my experiences with them have always left me feeling very well cared for.
Easy to get an appointment, friendly staff, affordable services especially the pet health club we use for our puppy’s first year. We started going with our 6yo cat then got a puppy, so have been coming here more and more and are very happy with the service. Vets make an effort for the puppy to enjoy it so she doesn’t get scared going to the vets too.
