Glenbrae Veteinary Clinic

About

The Glenbrae Veterinary Clinic employs a team that is dedicated to the highest standard of service for both you and your pets.

Story

Glenbrae Veterinary Clinic was first opened in January 1990 by Wendy McGrandles. By 1995 the practice had grown enough to need another full time vet and in 1996 we moved into our extended premises in Bearsden, Glasgow. The practice continued to go from strength to strength and in June 2007 we moved a short distance into much bigger purpose designed premises (double the size of our Baljaffray cllinic).

In 1997 we opened our branch surgery in Dumbarton, which is mainly staffed by the same staff members as our main Glenbrae surgery ensuring good continuity of cases.

Our enthusiastic, dedicated team aims to provide the highest level of small animal veterinary care in an environment that makes you and your pet feel welcome. Our team of vets (ably assisted by highly trained vet nurses) are here to give their best attention to any pet, whether it needs a routine health check and vaccination or an emergency, life-saving operation.

Most of our patients are dogs and cats, but we are seeing an increasing number of small furry pets, birds and more exotic species.

We keep a detailed medical record throughout your pet’s life as this aids treatment and enables us to ensure the best care for your pet’s well-being.

Please don’t be afraid to ask for our help or advice. All of the staff have pets of their own and we understand that your pet is a much-loved member of the family. We always bear this in mind when treating our patients.

Mission

To provide the most modern conventional veterinary care to your pets. We also have a kean interest in holistic and complementary treatments.

I had to use Glenbrae for my 18 year old springer spaniel one evening at 6.30. I came home and my dog was extremely unwell in such a panic I phoned the team at Glenbrae and the phone was answered quickly and my boy Harvey was seen at 6.55. I was met with the vet team waiting for his arrival and with such compassion at such a hard time. Unfortunately my boy crossed the rainbow bridge but the team were wonderful, compassionate and not for one minute did I feel I was rushed in any decision making or felt they wanted me to hurry as it was the end of a long day for them. I was talked through my options with Harvey and decided on cremation and getting his ashes back. This was a flawless service in such a heartbreaking time. Thanks for making me feel some comfort that day and even from the card that was sent with the poem after gave me and my family great comfort. Thank you all so much
I have been taking my furbabies to Glenbrae vets for years and I wouldn’t take them anywhere else. The staff are absolutely brilliant. We get a very warm welcome each and every time. Glenbrae actually treat your pet as one of their own. Highly recommended
Terrible, terrible They completely neglected my dog. They did not treat his condision or referred him to a specialist. When I demanded treatment or a quick action they treated me very bad and asked me to leave. The nurse was shouting at me on the front of my very sick dog and my one year old baby!!! They were taking money for nothing and stressing me out. They only give me diagnosis over the phone after I complained for a second time cos my boy become extremely unwell and we had to end his life. It was not even a proper diagnoses just assumption The vet, young, scrubby looking women did not answer a single question during the visit, she was rude, unhelpful and wanted money for nothing. Disappearing for 20min, 30 and 40 min at time during the consultation. She was totally useless and unkind. I could smell alcohol from her mouth. The other vet who we seen beforehand, was an older women who was saying that my dog had a dementia and wanted me to wait and wait for weeks and weeks without any kind of treatment or referral! The dog had very bad infection then and was not doing good She did not even check his bloods or tested him for anything. He did not had dementia she just made this up Vets at this practice had neglected my boy, they did not even tape crucial information about his symptoms into the computer. His passing was a result of lack of empathy, laziness and lack of knowledge by this veterinarians. They refund me a second opinion and they were laying that their nurse is a vet! My boy was the most beautiful dog ever. He deserved better! We are still heart broken It's shocking that they think that it's ok to treat animals and people like that. I only hope that CARMA it's real. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS TO THIS CLINICS.
Would highly reccomend thisVeterinary Practice. Reception staff, vets amd nurses and everyone involved in our dogs care go over and above to support patient[pet and family. Nothing to much trouble..And fully explain Treatment Plan, Cost and even asked us to call next day to update on dogs progress and to voice any concerns.Lovely Practice with lovely Animal loving caring professionals. Very Impressed
Have been to this vet several times & the service has been exceptional from the vets. Cara helped us with our dog with glaucoma with prompt referral to see Optomologist & later eye removal
My dog got speyed here as my own vets dont offer laprascopic. They took good care of my girl and staff were friendly and helpfull.
As always, I had a lovely visit to Glenbrae Veterinary Clinic. Excellent care and attention for my little old lady dog, Tilly from vet Annie.
We changed from another local vet and we are glad we did. Glenbrae are more friendly and more interested in our pets and always welcoming when we have visited. We would and have recommended this vet to family and friends.
Expensive short consultation, that didn’t give any indication about route of the issue or best next steps. Very quick to prescribe.
Recommend by a friend and always receive a warm welcome at reception and from the vets themselves. They keep you updated when your pet is due check ups and tablets.
