Special thanks to Sarah, Charlene, and Aileen for their exceptional care first! I recently took my cat to this vet after she accidentally swallowed a piece of aluminum foil. The staff were incredibly friendly, providing kind and professional advice throughout. The clinic appears to offer a comprehensive range of services. Definitely would recommend it to my friends.
I love the team and would recommend them to anyone I've been with Albavet Dennistoun since we got my dog Buggy 5 years now and they have always been amazing. I've already moved twice both times further away and still would not even consider changing our vet surgery They make Buggy feel so welcome which is really appreciated as he is quite an anxious boy Two days ago I came back home to a horror of him getting to a box of chocolate in a very thick premium metal packaging which I can't even open from the first go & which was also higher up than anything he usually could get and eating it all. Luckily, they were just opening, we had a quick call and they saw us straightaway They helped Buggy in now time and I could pick up my boy in less than 2 hours feeling great, looking energetic and happy I don't know how they managed that as they needed to make him sick. He was happy to see me and rushed to go play with his ball I assumed he'd be too tired and feel sorry for himself. The photos of him playing right after the pick-up Both the receptionist and the vet talked me through what was going to happen and how much it can cost before the procedures started and they made sure I was taken care of Really happy to have such a wonderful clinic, thank you!
Very kind and patient, and actually listens to accomodation requests! We've had issues that have lead to us paying double in the past at other clinics, when they refuse to consider that the physical stress our cat experiences when left at the vet/around other cats might actually be problem, and not just us being overdramatic, but we had no such issues here. They were more than happy to try to make the lead-up to, and recovery after procedures as stress-free for her as possible, which is super appreciated. We were also informed of the healthy pet club, which greatly reduces the price of procedures, vaccine boosters, tests, etc. when paying a set monthly fee. As one of us has a zero-hour minimum wage job, learning about this, and joining, has really helped ease the monetary strain of our cat's age-related issues : Attaching a couple photos of said cat recovering from anaesthesia, you can really see the singular brain cell bouncing about in her skull in these!
My little boy George has been with Albavet since before it became that, 11 and a half years. Always lovely vets and nurses and I felt he was so cared for. I lost my wee man last month and the vets were amazing. Saw him as much as he needed and made sure he got the meds and drips he needed. They also called round and got him referred when needed and I could not be more grateful. Thank you to all the vets, nurses and reception staff. You know how much I loved him and miss him so much. Thank you for taking care of both of us all these years.
Unfortunately this is a very expensive vet to take your pet to. We took my dog last week as she has grown some lumps in her stomach and we were concerned about them. Paid £208 to be seen and have the lumps sampled. That’s just to simply be sampled, which was expensive enough. They stated to me that 1 5th of all results come back inconclusive and unfortunately my dog has fallen into that bracket. The girl told me that the biggest lump Bonnie has is completely inconclusive, they have no idea what it is. And the other small lumps have came back as some sort of mass but they still cannot tell me whether the mass is benign or cancerous. So i have just spent £208 for the vet to come back with no further information. The next step the vet said we have to take is surgery as the lumps could still be harmful for my dog however she quoted me between 3 and 3 and a half grand for the surgery. I’m sorry but to charge these prices when you don’t even know what it is and can’t give me any answers is just an absolute disgrace. I appreciate private vets are expensive and the vet I dealt with isn’t solely to blame for not giving me any answers, but this is beyond just a frustration. We now have to go to another vet or possibly PDSA to have my dog treated as I’ve spent money with Albavet to get no further forward. Do not use a laboratory for your sampling that cannot give you any answers. This is a highly emotional time for me as the lumps on my dog are new and we’ve never had something like this happen before, so I put my trust in Albavet to get some answers and give me piece of mind and all they’ve done is take £208 from me and told me nothing. Disgrace
My dog Chop loves going to the vet, girls are fabulous with the animals. Vets are knowledgeable and informative and always kind and gentle x. Been with them since my dog was 12 weeks, still there 6 years later x. Wouldn’t go anywhere else x.
Not a cheap vet. I have had many recommendations for East end vets in terms of service and price. I've found albavet convenient if you do not drive and like how the cats have their own waiting area. It's never the same vet but not been an issue. I go to the vets every 2 years as my cat is mostly healthy. Has an odd skin condition every now and then.
Definitely not cheap here. Always had dogs, always happy to pay for their care. Went in for consultation about my dog who had a minor injury split nail which cost £158 for consultation, the nail was cut back, paw bandaged, and some pain relief. Was asked to come back within a few days just for quick check-up to ensure no infection which I assumed was charged in the original price. Went back for literally a 5 min check-up and was charged a further £53. Will be moving practice I'm afraid.
Always had good medical treatment and care for my pets. However, the place has deteriorated. My cat used to see the same couple of vets, then it was a different vet every time. One who did not appear exactly competent. We have changed vets.
I was a client of the original Watson & Blackadder practice and continued to use the service when Alba Vet took over. I have found all staff from reception, nurses, vets to be extremely helpful and caring. They are very understanding when it comes to my not very social with other animals dog and arrange appointments accordingly in order that she does not become unduly stressed. I particularly like the fact that the vets listen to what I say and explain in detail any treatments required.
