Service was the standout - genuinely spectacular, and we were taken care of beautifully throughout. Food-wise, though, the most interesting dish on the menu wasn’t available, the medium‑rare fillet steaks arrived well‑done despite being the priciest item, and the fried seafood lacked seasoning. Still a pleasant countryside stop thanks to the warm hospitality, but the kitchen didn’t quite deliver this time.
This place a little bit of heaven . Very beautiful old building lovingly cared for .excellent staff and food cooked to perfection . The cod loin fish and triple cooked chips were the best I've ever eaten and that's saying a great deal from someone who lives in cornwall . I Couldnt recomend it more. This place is an absolute gem of a find .If you are in tge area don't miss it
Visiting Thame to pick up a lot from the auction house and needed a stop and lunch, made a great choice. The Thatch was welcoming and friendly, we both has the cod loin, Basque cheesecake with raspberry compote, and drinks.nAll was delicious, I will have to check out the next auctions!
Nice atmosphere and service, but not a great kitchen. Some of the menu wasn’t available - and they were inflexible when we asked to pay for additional chicken on a certain dish, as it was available on other dishes. Plus it didn’t taste that great. The fish in the fish and chips was quite small portioned too. We were disappointed.
Delicious meal as always, we had the Sunday lunches and the meat was lovely and tender. The girls were so attentive and kind, overall a lovely experience.
