Lovely old pub. Popped in with my sis on the way to the solicitor, and the pub cheered us up after recently losing our mum. So impressed to find a wood burning fire on, the food was delicious too I had fish and chips. Great wines, and some cask ales too. Thanks to the lad working there, who made us feel at home.
A fabulous centre-of-town pub, with a great menu, and a wonderful attentive young front-of-house team.nnMy wife and I popped in mid/late summers Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a wonderful roast dinner although tempted by the burger menu. The food was hot, and did not take too long to arrive and was so nice I forgot to take a picture sorry!nnPlenty of seats in the main part of the pub, and a large seated area at the back.nnThere is a good wine and gin menu as a reasonable selection of beer and cider, parking can be found easily in Thame, perhaps bar on market day.nnWe will be back, and fab afternoon, was had on Dec 23..
Lovely roast lunch today, good service, nice coffee and you can keep Guiness properly. We will be back. We'll done to your young staff you do a very good job. Always friendly and well mannered. X
Went in for a beer with a couple of friends.nNice wee boozer. Barman was pleasant but ordered and tried to pay with my Scottish £20. Been ages since anyone has refused my money. Barman said that he wasn't allowed to accept Scottish money. was offered to speak to the manager, but decided not to cause a scene. So I offered him a £50 and said that I had just printed it before I left Scotland, and he accepted that over a real 20 pound Stirling!!
Slow service once ordered food. Waited around 40 minutes even though they had literally just started food. Dirty cutlery so had to change it. Dirty floors. Fire extinguisher covered in dust. The pub had a grimey feel to itnCabbage stone cold. Pie and mash very hot but had obviously been heated in the microwave. No taste to the mash, no butter or seasoning. Tasted like false mash. Chicken tenders overcooked so had to cut off each end as they were too hard. Chips nice. Toilets could be cleaner and need some money spent on them. Staff polite and friendly. Wouldn't recommend and would not return.
