Breathtaking!! Definitely worth a visit. I booked in advance for the 09.30am entry and it was definitely the best time to visit. We queued up early and waited about 15 mins in the line and it was getting really long so was glad to have joined it early. A member came and checked out tickets and we were able to go inside and wait. The security check was quick but worth noting that large backpacks need to be carried on your hand so carry a small over the body bag if you don't want to carry your bag around. The audio guide is worth getting, each video was a min or so long and explained each room or item nicely. The advantage of booking the early slot was that each room only had a handful of people in them so I was able to take it all in, take my time and listen to each video. We finished the palace in an hour. Then I spent a bit of time in the garden and the shop is worth visiting. I got some lovely bits from there. If you print the tickets then you are able to validate them for a year and reuse them so luckily I had them printed. No photos are allowed inside the palace but you can take them in the garden.
I was so excited to go to Buckingham Palace and I am glad I did. The queue is all right around 15 min Staff inside is super lovely and polite We went on a hot day and it was often felt stuffy and lack of oxygen in the rooms. you can’t take photos inside the palace! The art collection and furniture is breathtaking To me the audio guide was really basic and only a handful of items are discussed Iconic, historical buildings a must see
Visited on a hot Thursday. We approached the Palace from Green Park Tube Station, which gives a nice walk through the park to the front of the Palace, Had pre-booked via an agent, but on hindsight would probably have been better buying tickets direct from the Royal Collection Trust. If you have a voucher you need to go to Gate A and swap the voucher for your tickets. Further, a ticket from RCT allows you to convert it to a 1-year pass which once stamped on the way out gives free admission for the year. We found this part of the process straightforward, with friendly helpful staff, and no queue. The tickets then give you a meeting time and entry time at Gate C. We arrived early due to the queue, but as the queue moved we arrived at the front fairly quickly. Staff were constantly combing the queue to ensure you met your entry window, and in our case because we were early we had to return further down the queue, and rejoin. 300 people enter every 15 minutes, and you are directed to one of two waiting rooms before being called to go through the security checks. The whole process was very smooth and efficient. Once through security free audio tours are available but strictly no photography, and no food and drink is allowed in the house. However, bottled water is allowed. Note there is no air-conditioning and the Palace can get warm on a hot day. Toilets are only available at the end of the interior tour, as are the cafe facilities. The tour itself takes in a number of the state rooms such as the stunning White Drawing Room, the Throne Room, Ballroom including the latest portrait of King Charles, Music Room, Grand Staircase, and State Dining Room. There are numerous collections of paintings by artists such as Vermeer and Canaletto, and other artworks. Staff are available everywhere and are extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Some of the rooms and corridors felt a little worn and dim. Ultimately, the tour takes you out into the gardens where the cafe and toilets are located. The cafe was extremely busy, although a little disappointing as it resembled a terrace canteen with paper cups, pre-wrapped sandwiches, etc. It was also quite pricey. Although once again the staff were excellent. Photographs are allowed in the garden, and the exit from the terrace is along a paved path round the edge of the lake. An iconic building which is worth a visit if touring London.
Amazing. Not too many rooms included, it is nonetheless worth seeing plus the fact that you are actually inside Buckingham Palace!!! - rooms open are mostly the main ones where the monarch entertains diplomats, prime ministers, other heads of state, commonwealth reps, privy council; eg. grand hall, quadrangle 'behind' the frontage of Buckingham Palace that everyone sees from the outside, dining room, painting gallery, music room, ball room, etc and the gardens where the monarch invites thousands to private garden parties. Note: Photos not permitted inside; only when you finish the tour and come out to the gardens and the cafe no walking on the grounds either! Cafe has sandwiches, cakes, scones and clotted cream, coffee, tea etc. Public toilets are also located near here at the end of the tour route. Headphones and visual information display included for all included parts of the palace.
My second time to BP in 9 years and I loved it just as much as the first time. I am glad the ticket earnings go towards conserving this history. The palace is over the top & just wonderful. I love the portrait gallery and the drawing rooms. Staff are lovely and it's a well organised system. I wish I could go back in time and see it when Queen Victoria was alive. Well done to all involved and please keep up the good work.
Highly recommended to visit. Book tickets online at least a day in advance as tickets sell out really fast. Got to collect tickets at the site before queuing to check bags. Audio guides are provided and really provides a good insight to the state rooms. The interiors are lavish and deliberate and very classy. Nothing short of spectacular. There was a jubilee exhibit on the Queen and some of her jewels are displayed and they are WOW. No photography inside the state rooms allowed. No air conditioning too so it’s a little stuffy inside the rooms during summer. At the end of the tour there is a large cafe where you can buy snacks, drinks and hot tea and coffee and ice cream. Toilets are located outside the building. Then to exit it’s a long walk out about 7 minutes to near the Wellington Arch. Because of the jubilee we got an extension of our ticket to a year pass which was awesome.
What a great day really well organised went with Middletons coaches on day trip. Would recommend an organised trip, as u get in without having to wait in a long queue. U get audio guide. A lot of walking but worth it. The caffe at the Palace is not expensive £3.20 for cappuccino.Visited onWeekendWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedYes
A once in a life time to see behind the curtains of the most famous "house" in the country, just to be there is an experience not to forget, to see some of the treasures within the palace was amazing, plenty of areas to just sit ant take it all in and then spend some time in the cafe at the end of the tour then the shop followed by an amazing walk through the palace gardens is breathtaking.
Lovely ... although one member of staff at the end was shouting at people to return headsets and tablets whereas there were enough people outside able to take them. Then the wasps. .. if you have jam they seem to target you we had 6 which wasn't very pleasant. There are certain things you can do not able to use your phone to take pictures as they will confiscate it and airport scanning when you go on so read up before and no toilet access before but they are at the end. Shop is expensive but if you fancy anything special that's where to get it. Drinks and cakes are on the high side.too but worth it!
I bought the tickets 3 months before march 2023. Too crowded inside, many people in the same time. Very beautiful inside all the rooms. Visited July 2023Visited onWeekdayWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedYes
