Lovely pub with a nice sharing roast option. The food was tasty and fresh, we have enjoyed variety of meat and vegetables, the gravy was tasty. It is mostly self service, ordering with QR code or at the bar. Atmosphere was a bit noisy and again you need to find a table by yourself etc. Main course plates should be provided, bread plates are too small. Attaching pictures for reference. Staff were friendly and helpful, thank you. Enjoy
My experience with AB l was a grate pledge meeting her she is a natural strong lady she is a very positive lady ,when I tell her what I am doing she say yes she need it and she say yes she need it.and she say do wanted to doing am proud of her we have a laughter to gather so I am here to say to peoples I recommend you to go to the Southwark Tavern, it is very comfortable place.like in this hot weather to sit down stairway and have yourself eating and drinking your nice Pinte of beer and have a good vibes also please respect the management of the business and your self one love to all ABI Customer from your review Euphemia Christie
The food was amazing we loved the sunday roasts, the service of thalsi my bad pronounciation was great. We are from Portugal, She helped us with the language by using a translator and taught me how to use it. Now i'm using the translator to write this review lol Food: 5/5
A nice little pub with friendly staff. We had the Sunday Roast which was plentiful and tasty. Some just needed cooking more. The potatoes weren't crisp at all and the veg was quite hard. Really nice stodgy yorkshire puddings though and lovely gravy. Good amount of different vegetables. A busy place too being right by Borough Market.
Intimate atmospheres with great food. Tablet online ordering didn't work which would be my only constructive feedback since they are so crowded ordering way the bar is time consuming. Despite three crowd though there was plenty of seating at the lower levels.Food: 4/5
I was with friends and we ordered a range of drinks and meals. The ale we wanted ran out and food items were not available and we had to choose alternatives. Whilst waiting for the food we were told they had run out of cabbage. When the average at best food arrived it was barely warm except for the pie which made us think all of the meals had been left waiting for that. The decor/atmosphere is nice but we won't go back.
On the plus side, there are four ales on tap, on the minus side, interior layout could be so much better, apart from the original external tiling everything else about this pub is a fake, from the stained glass to the slatted flooring, it just looks wrong.
Lovely pub but don't buy a portion of chips as it's tiny and expensive.Food: 1/5
Great spot but filthy and glasses everywhere . Staff not busy and al the tables hardly any space to put your drinkService: 2/5
I recently visited Southern Tavern and had a delightful experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with an oak-floored bar that exudes a traditional pub charm. The exposed-brick basement dining room with vaulted alcoves adds a unique touch, creating a cozy and intimate setting. The staff was friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience. The menu showcased a variety of well-prepared dishes, and the attention to detail was evident in every bite. Whether you're looking for a casual drink at the bar or a satisfying meal in the basement dining room, Southern Tavern delivers on both ambiance and flavor. Highly recommend for those seeking a genuine and welcoming pub experience.
