Story

In the 90s we set our roots in Borough Market opening our original warehouse and shop. Then in 2004 we moved from warehouse to plate when we opened the doors of our first restaurant.

Our bustling tapas bar was one of the first of its kind and has since become the home of authentic Spanish food in London.

Brindisa, founded in 1988 by Monika Linton, comes from the Spanish brindis, which means to ‘raise your glass’ in celebration. We started over 28 years ago as a salute to the real, artisan food of Spain.

In 2004 we moved from warehouse to table with the opening our first restaurant, ‘Tapas Brindisa’, in Borough Market. Since then we have opened five bustling tapas bars and family restaurants across London.

Right around the entrance of Borough market. This tapas place is busy on a weekend night. However, the waiting time was very manageable. we had a drik at the bar, the inside table was ready. everything we tried was delicious. Good service too.
Exceptional meal. I’ve been here before so I knew it would be good but they surpassed themselves last night. We walked in without a booking not recommended but only had to wait ten minutes at the bar before we got a seat. Our waitress was helpful and efficient. Even when my colleague spilt sauce down his shirt and she produced spray and clothes to help ease the staining. The food was immense. The chorizo and iberico stood out but the whole thing was delicious. If you like tapas you can’t go wrong. We also had gambas prawns, squid, chicken, potato bravas and padrons. We drank beer and ate mainly in silence because the food was so good. Just the sounds of enjoyment as we tasted mouthful after mouthful of tasty tapas. Highly recommend. I’ve been before and will go again. 5/5 last night. Honestly.
Food is very authentic - I ordered the prawns, tomato bread and croquettes. It was all excellent, but the croquettes were the winning dish! The atmosphere is lovely, warm lighting and good music. Service is good, but quite slow. Will be back!Food: 5/5
Staff were friendly but they forgot 2 things we ordered. It's a tapas restaurant so it should be pretty common that people order many dishes but we needed to ask twice unfortunately. It'll be better if the waiter can ask us if everything is okay so we don't need to frustrate to call someone. Food was good but not exceptional.
Lovely atmosphere unfortunately food wasn't as great! We ordered fish and liver and paid £18 for tiny plate. Bit overpriced! It was 2 of us and food came 20 min apart. Waiter was saying that is different food and cooking time is differ. Lady with friends who came after us ordered same fish and was served first. Little bit disappointed.
*BEWARE allergy sufferers* Whilst the traditional Spanish Tapas was absolutely delicious, my friend who has a severe nut allergy and I were both shocked at the serious risk at which this restaurant is placing its customers when it comes to lack of care regarding food allergies. Neither upon arrival nor before ordering did our waiter ask us about any allergies and the printed menu here does not state any allergen information next to the dishes. As a result of these failures, having ordered the Chicken Thighs With Romesco Sauce, we only realised it contained nuts when the plate arrived which we had to send back of course due to my friend's serious nut allergy. Whilst the lovely female manager immediately offered us a replacement and looked after us like VIPs we both expressed serious concerns about the lack of visible allergen information and the "near miss" we experienced. My recommendations to the BRINDISA management are as follows: 1. Ensure it's standard practice for ALL staff including bar and waiting staff to ask customers if they have any allergies when booking, upon arrival at the restaurant and then again prior to ordering any food or drinks 2. Have clear allergen information printed in bold underneath each dish/item on the menu 3. Require waiting staff to verbally inform customers of allergens present in dishes ordered for.example "Just to let you know the chicken romesco contains nuts" Dietary restrictions: Please BEWARE if you have any food ALLERGIES: *Our waiter at this restaurant did not ask us before ordering whether we had any allergies *The menu only has a tiny virtually invisible allergy notice in the bottom right corner of the printed paper version *Specific allergen information is NOT displayed next to each dish so please ask the waiter and check yourself
One of the best tapas bars in London. Prawns in Garlic and Goats cheese with honey are our absolute favourites. Delicious Food: 5/5
My friends and I came here and it’s a no no for me. The atmosphere was bad, the staffs were unfriendly, not welcoming. It was very uneasy feeling dining in. Prices are very expensive. Not worth it. I think you are just paying for the location. Food was ok though.Recommended dishesGambas Al Ajillo, Arroz Negro
This place is quite simply divine! Every tapas is cooked to perfection! The ham croquettes are simply to die for! The staff are lovely, so attentive, welcoming & happy to make recommendations that never disappoint! The setting is gorgeous, although quite small, the space has been used wisely. They managed to find a spot for a high chair for my friends daughter without a problem. It's a beautiful place all round, cannot recommend highly enough Vegetarian options: All of the vegetable options were delicious a real delight for vegetarians! Kid-friendliness: They were so great with my friends daughter. She had a lovely time!!
Very nice and tasty tapas dishes The lamb was soo good! No booking is needed; just turn up. Can get a bit crowded and noisy, though.Food: 5/5
