Boro Bistro is a peaceful haven set in the hustle of Borough Market. Tucked away next to the south shoulder of London Bridge - it’s serves up a selection of French-led small plates. There’s nice eclectic seating outdoors but we chose the quirky interior. This is an English summer for goodness sake! The table ordered pull pork burger - which looked succulent. We ordered crab cakes - pretty good / perhaps a little over fried? The prawns were tasty and messy. Also a classic beef burger which was on the right side of medium. Service was friendly and overall, the vibe was chilled. All in all, a great spot for an informal meet up with friends - summer or winter.
Friendly staff. Loved sitting outside but also loved the ambience inside and the toilets. You need to go here just to visit the loo! Really unique and I would love to have a birthday or dinner event here. A very special place.Food: 5/5
Had a very pleasant lunch at Boro Bistro today! The restaurant itself is cozy and a bit of a jazzy/boho style, quirky but comfortable. There is also outdoor seating with heaters and blankets, but as we had 2 babies today we opted for indoor seating, and we also booked in advance. We also had 2 high chairs for the babies, and space for 2 prams to park nearby. Staff were super kind and friendly with our baby and kept coming to say hello - she was soaking up the attention! The food was really delicious. The portions are a tad small, but reasonable given the prices - suppose they are called small plates on purpose! Our favourite was snail, padron peppers, the cod and the barley risotto. The beef had an amazing mushroom sauce but was a tad chewier than what we would have liked. Mulled wine was superb, like straight out of an Xmas market! They have a baby changing table near the toilets at the bottom, however they would need to walk down steps of stairs. The place is really central near the Borough market but a bit hard to get to if you cannot use stairs. It is technically step free with ramps, but not easy with bigger or a double stroller. Overall we had a really great time here, would absolutely recommend. Vegetarian options: There are some delicious vegetarian options but not a lot, and mainly sides. Kid-friendliness: Offers high chair and nappy change area, but would need to go down steps of stairs. We requested few items eg. sweet potato wedges without salt for babies and they were happy to help Wheelchair accessibility: Might be hard navigate around Borough area without stairs. Has ramps to the place. I'd say a bit tight for wheelchair indoors, but outdoor seating should be fine.
Absolutely obsessed with this place, I'll definitely be returning : The food was unreal, just wish I could have chosen the entire menu! It's a French/Asian type tapas - it says it's French but there's definitely Asian elements, with mussels in a curry sauce, and cod in soy sauce, ginger and honey. The french fries with truffle oil were just divine, as were the mussels. I had the lemon and apple sorbets for desert one scoop of each and both were absolutely excellent. The presentation was also beautiful - photo attached. We sat outside, and the atmosphere and location was perfect. I felt like I was on the streets of Paris! Out waiter was absolutely excellent, really friendly and fast, but not pushing us to leave. I only knocked off a star for the service because there was quite a queue to get in, as the waitress didn't seat people quickly.
From the moment we walked into the courtyard, we were met with amazing staff. We were shown to our table and we were looked after so well. The servers were knowledgeable and helpful. Food was amazing and the choice was off the scale! We enjoyed a belly full of amazing wine, breads, cheeses, mussels, prawns and brandy!!! We enjoyed another drink outside in the courtyard and finally left feeling happy and stuffed!!! Amazing place! PS, it was only after we had spent far too long in the loo's, we realised there were cameras in the main area! Who knew a playground spring toy rockers duck could be so much fun!
Great ambience, really eclectic decor. I had the squid, beef onglet delicious and pearl barley risotto with a couple cocktails. Food was pretty great except the risotto which was a tad salty but if you like ripe cheese, you’ll like it. Dietary restrictions: Separate menu for non dairy
Lovely outside sitting area, inside it's a little dark though. Really delicious food, best truffle fries I've ever had and really tasty, juicy prawns. The small plates really are quite small but still, they're reasonably priced considering the area. Lovely cocktails too at good prices. Cool quirky bathroom.Food: 5/5
Beautiful ambiance with plenty of outdoor seating. Service is friendly and pretty timely. All of the food was well prepared, but the standouts were the Rosemary Camembert, the Lamb Chop, and the French Fries with Truffle Oil. A lot of vegetarian options as well. Would recommend for a relaxing lunch.Food: 4/5
Unique Restaurant in Borough Market! We were seated outdoor because the weather is perfect. The food is delicious but in a small portion. The one taking order could have at least informed us that the food is not for sharing! Ambiance is perfect! Interesting is when you go to toilet..Looks like you’re going inside a party!
Nice, cosy atmosphere in a brilliant location 2-3 minutes away from London Bridge station. I ordered 3 dishes which was enough for me but would have liked slightly more value for money. The goats cheese and aubergine dish was delicious. On the downside service was a bit slow and unfriendly because they turned the heaters outside off to encourage us to leave. Overall, would recommend but be sure to book to get a seat inside as we didn't and was freezing outside, even with the heaters on.
