Great little gem of a hotel, situated just outside the city centre 20 min walk/bus situated on a university campus. Rooms are spacious with a huge bed, grwat bathroomand shower. The Hotel is very clean and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The food at the restaurant is excellent with brilliant and friendly service and a great choice of food and drinks. Nice decor and furniture in the rooms and restaurant. Breakfast is also a must have.nnWith it being on a campus it might put people off as there are students walking by, can bit abit noisey at night but it is worth it as its a lovely hotel and one id definitely recommend/come back too.
For all Diving persons! The perfect hotel to stay in when visiting Edinburgh!nGreat service and we have to takk about the breakfast. The restaurant in the Hotel: the Abacus is simply lovely and the breakfast served there is one of the best I've head. Not because of the variaty of options, bit for the quality of the ala carte menue that is included! The bar has a good gin list. The beds are good, and the rooms are spacious.nSo noe to the most important thing. As a diving coach in Bergen Diving Club, I'm always looking for the best way to travel, eat and live as a diving person. This is perfect. Next door to the Commonwealth pool. It's definately the place to stay if you are at a competition or a training camp in Edinburgh!

The Hotel is very clean and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast very tasty and great coffee!nI definitely recommend it and I am definitely staying here when I come back to Edinburgh
Very polite and friendly staff, quality rooms, everything smells nice and the food is exquisite.nRooms are virtually soundproof, couldn't hear our loud TV even right up against the door in the hall.nLocation is amazing, tucked away from the crowds but still real close to the royal mile
Positives :n1. Rooms are very cozy, and clean.n2. Washroom was spacious and Toiletries came in huge bottles and very posh.n3. Parking is private and free, which was very convenient.n4. Staff are friendly.nnNegatives;n1. No hair dryer which is kinda basic in a 4 star hotel. I took a shower in the morning and had to spend entire day with wet hair. I called in from 9-9:30am to request one, but no one from reception attended the call.nn2. Breakfast buffet option was way too limited. NO EGGS OR TOAST EVEN! This was served in a very small table with limited pieces and they kept running out. They were urging people to order off their menu, which shouldn’t be a case if breakfast was paid extra! The term continental breakfast did not suit.nn3. The reception desk was not 24/7, it was till 10pm if my memory is right.nnNB ;n1. It is part of University of Edinburgh and situated within one of the campus.nn2. Can’t set room temperature, but can adjust the radiator.
