I recently stayed at the Hub by Premier Inn Edinburgh Haymarket, and it was an excellent choice for a short city break. The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from Haymarket train station, making it easy to access attractions like Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile.nnThe rooms are modern and compact, designed for efficiency. Although small, the space is well-utilized, featuring comfortable beds, a smart TV, mood lighting, and plenty of charging points. The bathroom was clean and had a powerful shower, which was refreshing after a day of sightseeing. I also appreciated the app-based room controls that allowed me to adjust the lighting and temperature from my phone.nnWhile there isn't a traditional wardrobe, the provided hooks and storage spaces were sufficient for my short stay. Breakfast was fresh and varied, with options ranging from croissants to fruit, and coffee is available 24/7. The lobby has a welcoming vibe, perfect for enjoying a quick drink or snack.nnOverall, Hub by Premier Inn Edinburgh Haymarket is a fantastic choice for budget-conscious travelers who value a sleek, modern stay in a convenient location. The rooms may be small, but they are well-equipped for a comfortable experience.
For a solo traveller going to Edinburgh this hub hotel is perfect. The room may be small but has everything you need for those just using the room for rest, the bed is comfortable, shower is perfect. The air conditioning/heat controls along with the light/do not disturb etc are on the electric panel at the headboard end of the bed. There is a small desk that slides out from the end of the bed and a small chair. Wouldn't say the chair is comfortable for a long spell but enough for checking emails etc on a laptop which would fit perfectly on the desk. There's a lift to all floors. Downstairs is a dining/relaxing coffee shop area, here you can have breakfast or dinner, or you can take them up to your room. There's tea and coffee, and water available all day and night. There is also a bar at the back of the dining area. There's traditional tables for sitting at or a few comfy chairs and large sofas. This hotel is situated just minutes from Haymarket train station, there is also other forms of transport links at the station like trams, buses and taxis. I would definitely use this hotel again.
So much about this is right, small rooms but clean modern well design rooms, and all you need. However, the room window could not be opened, which meant it was far too hot. There was an air conditioning unit but it didn’t seem to make much difference, and as a result had a bad sleep in a hot uncomfortable room. Hotels in Scotland should all have windows that can open as burning energy to cool a room when it’s 10 degrees outside is nuts.
Certainly a choice for convenience over comfort - well designed but not spacious rooms. One pillow each was not adequate but reception provided extra pillows for us, and helped us cancel a future booking at the hotel when our plans changed - this was not easy to do online, which was very frustrating!nThe location was decent with buses and trams nearby to go into the city centre.
Basic and yet has all you need for a vacation stay. To have a common area for coffe/tea in the lobby instead of providing kettle in the room is a fantastic idea! It creates a space for mingling over a cuppa and some relaxing time after a long day out or while waiting for flight/train time. Enjoyed my stay!
