For some people this large bar in Glasgow City Centre with its exceptionally cheap prices will be a godsend and for others it's a bit of a Star wars bar and I suppose it's a little of both. It's pleasant and presentable inside and has a traditional feel both inside and outside. The service is good but the main feature in my opinion is the excellent prices.
Great pub centrally situated not far from the shops or the station drunk here a while ago but great to be back. Good pint of Guinness and great choice of food from the menu went for the small bites, very tasty and hope it will not be that long till we are back
Fish and chips are very good. And burgers. My Daughter also liked the red wine lasagna. We ate here on 2 different occasions, can't beat the dinner special and food quality was very good. Kevin and staff were nice despite being very busy. Only minor doing is appetizers are over priced and they never had one of the advertised beers.
Popped in for a quick lunch with my husband before heading for the bus home. Typical menu for a pub. Prices good. Opted for 2for1 burger deal. After about 40 minutes a party of three who had ordered after us were served their food. I pointed this out to the girl who served them. Her answer was that table 7s ours was sitting in the back! She brought our food after a few minutes. I immediately saw that the top of my bun was black. When I lifted it to look underneath I was astonished to find it was brick hard and stone cold. On examining the rest of the burger I found it also to be burnt and cold. My husband checked his burger and it was cold and the bun was also burnt. When I complained to a lady I think may have been the manager she was very apologetic and offered to replace the food. I refused this and she refunded our money. I spoke to the other people who had been served food and they told me they were there for a free meal in compensation for twice being served a cold breakfast the week before. Their meals looked as badly cooked as ours were. We were in about 2pm and there was no one else being served food so they can't blame it on the kitchen being busy. This was the first time we had been in this pub and certainly would not return. We went from there to Lauders which is just 5 minutes away. It has exactly the same menu and offers. We ordered the same burgers and were delighted with them. Staff were also very friendly and efficient.
Came for breakfast at 9:30 was ignored by the server. The food was good but not exceptional. My friend and I both noticed they were already men drinking there pints as we were entering for breakfast. The interior is quite beautiful and done up with class and taste.
Drinks were great. Poor quality food. Baked potato with the rump steak was cold, the steak was overcooked and salad was brown and dried out. Chicken and rib combo was smallest combo Ive come across. Kids meal was the only decent meal served. Very disappointing.
Ordered 8oz stake rare. What we got was steak so tough and dry it was inedible. Service was okay had to wait at the bar for a good 5 minutes before actually being served, pub was very busy, also had minimal bar staff working behind the bar.
Good atmosphere. Bit understaffed and they don't give attention to who is next in the queue. People put cigarettes all over the ground and bins rather than in the proper areas. But good value.
A nice pub to go to for a drink and bite to eat. The food was fine no complaints and the staff were nice. You're better going earlier if you want a seat. The place is usually backed by 2pm.
Liked the place. My only criticism was the lack of staff, three people running a very busy bar is not good! I did not really mind waiting forty minutes for my meal as after all I was there for the beer, the meal was excellent and not expensive.
