We probably just came to the Bier Halle with the wrong expectations. What is often mentioned here and I can only confirm is the lack of choice, especially of German beers, or I didn't understand the concept. I would like to see a larger selection of draught beers under these names and, if possible, a German beer. We thought the selection of snacks to go with the beer was pretty cool. The service was also great.
Well all I'll say is run don't walk. It's awesome!!! Can't wait to come back Food: 5/5
Comfortable and casual, Bier Halle has been around for decades and is proof that if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Pizza, beer and hot dogs. Winner. On a rainy lunchtime on Tuesday it was packed. Lunch for under £10 in 2023 is indeed a rare find. If you’re looking for somewhere to have a light bite and a chat you can do a lot worse. Wheelchair accessibility: Lots of stairs
Visited here twice in the last week, one Sunday early afternoon and an evening midweek. The service is excellent with the staff visiting your table frequently. The portions are huge and great value for money, a great fine. The soup and sandwich deal or the half pizza and fries deal are definitely worth every penny.Food: 5/5
I came here on a Friday evening and had mostly female services/runners, everything was great! Friday crew rocked. I came back on Sunday, and was seated quickly, but when it came to ordering, male server told me I had to pay for everything as I ordered, ok not a problem. Not how it happened on Friday but deal. I can do that. Female runner came right out with my beer..like she had been waiting for someone to order this! Awesome! Such great service like last time. However, I told the server that I wasn't ready for a food order just yet so I imagined he would come back in 5 mins or ever at some point. It's currently 20-30 minutes later and I haven't seen a soul. No one, no server, no waiter, not a person to help me. I thought I could wave someone down...but I'll just assume they "didn't see me" very hit or miss on this place. But they missed on this round!
We were sitting out site cause of great weather and music. Order is very easy. Need to be done and paid over the phone. Food was great.Food: 4/5
Great food! Awful service by waiters and bouncers, makes you feel unwelcomed and a burden. Also, if I am to be served by a waiter I have to walk to the bar to call over after 30 minutes of waiting at my table, I would not like to pay before my food is served, thank you. Excellent range of beers from different countries, extensive pizza menu with also other food items like hot dogs, and baked camembert !! The pizzas have a thin and crispy base, with really tasty toppings- you can find anything such as black pudding, haggis and duck on pizza! Highly recommend the tuna one, it's delicious
Went here for some food and drinks before one of the scotland games. Now looking back on it we wished we stayed for the whole evening. Best beer selection in the city centre and food was decent at reasonable prices. Hoping to return in the future.Food: 5/5
