Story

With its high ceiling, wood-panelled walls and horseshoe-shaped bar that juts into the room, The Rhoderick Dhu is a lively city-centre bar that takes its sport seriously. Switching from horseracing to football - or whatever big tournament is on - it hits the back of the net with a wide age range thanks to the three Sky boxes and multiple screens. It has its own built-in smoking courtyard to the rear - complete with plasma TV, heaters and fairy lights - and it also has a sizeable downstairs function room, known as the Ruag, ideal for business meetings, birthday parties and retirement dos: call for details.

What. A. Pub. I’ve been coming for years and the Rhoddy is all you could want. Fantastic food, a fine selection of whisky, and a crisp pint. Whether it’s a Saturday night or a quiet one after work, I totally rate the Rhoderick Dhu for the atmosphere and the quality of service - Whether it’s big man James, Vic, Derek, Debbie, Laura, Danny… the list goes on - they make you feel welcome and special from when you enter until you have to part ways. A must see in Glasgow, and especially if you fancy catching the football or rugby!
We spent our last 2 days in Scotland exploring Glasgow. Stopped into the Rhoderick Dhu for dinner on the recommendation of a cousin. The pub and atmosphere did not disappoint! A great spot for a pint and some patter or bite. Our server Jenny made us feel at home and the fish and chips prepared for us in the kitchen by James and Daryl were perfect!
My visit to this restaurant was a memorable one, thank to - Jim, Bobe, Laura and Amy. With its cozy ambiance, outstanding fish and chips, perfectly poured Guinness, and exceptional service, it's a place I'll be recommending to friends and eagerly returning to. Whether you're a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop by, you won't be disappointed.
Every time someone visits us, we always bring them here. Recently, our family came to town and we took them to Rhoderic. Laura and Vic, along with James, were very friendly. The fish and chips at this place are the best in town and we highly recommend them to everyone.Food: 5/5
Popped in tonight for me dinner. Cracking place and the staff, Amy and James were very friendly and accommodating. Service was great, and the food to die for, I had the crispy squid as a small plate followed by the todays special, which was chicken and leek pie with chips. Both were cooked to perfection and portions were on the large size.....was stuffed afterwards so hat off to the chef. Thoroughly enjoyed and will be going back to see what other daily specials they have.
Jenn provided wonderful service and the food was excellent with assist by Bobe and James! Rhoderick Dhu far outshines next door Kitty's. We enjoyed the Saturday afternoon scene with so many friendly and welcoming Glaswegians! Highly recommend Rhoderick Dhu for the real Glasgow feel!Food: 5/5
I booked the function suite for my husband’s surprise 60th party. The communication throughout was excellent. Venue free as long as you take the buffet, which has 3 offerings and different prices. DJ also added. I was able to come along to the venue from 1pm to decorate which gave me loads of time before the night. The night itself was incredible, manager James made a point of coming to meet with me and was available all night. The buffet was amazing, loads of food and everyone gave it a good Thanks so much to James and the staff for really making it a night to remember. Also have just eaten here and once again the food was delicious. Best hummus I’ve ever had. Great service and treated really well. Will definitely be back, sooner than you think

I have visited this pub on many occasions in both the bar and in the function suite over the last 10 years and have never had any problem, quite the opposite. This bar does attract regulars, and it's understandable why you feel part of a wee family environment from the vibe in the upstairs bar. I attended a special anniversary event and could not give enough praise to everyone involved. It was a fantastic night, and the function suite was very creative it looked like a wedding or something, and the flashing dancefloor was my highlight. The food served is mouth melting, with great choice. I suspect the head chef Boab sprinkles some magical dust over his dishes his food is addictive and well presented. Delicious menu and fantastic value, sadly, no secret recipes were shared by Boab. Stevie, the DJ in the functions is a superstar and plays music for all ages, for all ages, my 4 year old grandaughter can testify to that one. the atmosphere is so relaxed, strangers become instant friends. Again, friendly, attentive staff at the bar, too many to mention, Debbie, Laura, Danny, Victoria, James to name a few but they are all warm, friendly, and eager to please. Jen wrote an amazing poem about the pub. You can see it in photos. It was such a great read ,it's just funny because you know it's all true. The smokers outdoor area is just a fantastic gem of a place. It's outside with an indoor feel with planting and high stools, and good old santiser, of course - you're best to go in and just see it for yourself hard to describe it;  it has open umberellas above to catch rain, you have 4 shielded walls, doors, wall heaters, TV screen, glass window facing inside the pub - smoker or non, everyone just mixes well, it's just a traditional wee pub in city centre and easy access to train links, try a lunch or dinner book prior as it's always busy and make enquiries if you are interested in more details of their function packages order meal before 8pm.
