A spot-on real ale bar with a great selection of beers on cask and keg and decent gins and whiskeys too!, friendly service and a good atmosphere. The prices were reasonable too. Absolutely worthy of top marks.
The selection of cask ales, ciders and perries is always excellent as is the bottle shop. Bring in a takeaway meal if you are hungry!
A wonderful example of an independent tap House. Great selection of ales, ciders and local spirits. If you're in Stockport and fancy a relaxing drink in a great atmosphere then this is well worth a visit. The pork pies are also very nice!
Great bar. The selection of ales is fantastic. Staff are really good and knowledgeable about the beers. Only complaint is that regulars take up a lot of the bar and do not move even when it's gets busy. Doesn't put us off though. We will definitely be returning.
Great place, great beers and helpful, friendly staff. Lapsang souchong blonde 10.5% was delicious.
Popular among the "tickers" and the Stockport real ale fans. A bar rather than a traditional pub, still feels like a shop to me so it's all about the beer I suppose. Could be expensive if you had more than a couple or you were buying the rounds! An alternative real ale outlet to Wetherspoons just down the road and the Angel & Bakers pubs in the market.
Lovely tap room, great selection of beers. Bigger than most if you're with a big group.
Great place to enjoy a quality beer close to the market. Interesting cask/keg/cider selection: they even had barley wine when I was there. There could well be a bottle shop upstairs full of Belgian rarities. Went today, it's still fabbo
Short stay here but a nice little tap house with a nice sized upstairs and a good selection of beers to choose from, can't fault it really, has a homely vibe to it.
A well stocked and welcoming tap house that serves the most sublime mulled wine with a measure of amaretto. I'd call that a winter winner.
