Great Pub. Quaint. Has a lot of character still and History. I enjoy a drink everytime I'm in there. They have live bands sometimes out in the courtyard. Also a well covered and comfortable smoking area. Not had food there but believe it's very nice.

Everything that makes a pub great really. The food and drink is excellent, the staff are very friendly and it has a welcoming, easy going atmosphere. The long serving management have recently retired but it appears to be in safe hands as the new management seem to have recognised, if it isn't broken don't try and fix it.

Had a fantastic meal at The Arden Arms, possibly the nicest meal I've ever had in a public house! Followed by a brilliant night of fine wines, real ales, a great band and perfect hosts! Highly recommend this little treasure!

I've known the Arden for a number of years and would say that it's undoubtedly the best pub in Stockport. It's a Robbie's house with a good selection of ales and great, honest, home-cooked food. Following the recent retirement of mine hosts there was concern that the pub would change under a new regime. In a refreshing take on how to run a new pub the incoming managers have vowed not to change a thing. Good luck to them - if it isn't broken, don't try and fix it.

Quaint old style pub with a lovely atmosphere, close to Asda and plenty of parking, really easy to find, Sat Nav took me right there. Starter we had the soup of the day was an unusual sounding but delicious Mushroom and Pernod. Mains we both had the Steak and garden herb burger, which was big and meaty, maple bacon was sweet and crispy with mustard and horseradish cheese which sounds like it could be too hot and overpowering but was mild and flavourful the sweetcorn relish was lovely too, served with proper chips. The service was amazing soup arrived at the table just as I got back from the bar with our drinks fast and attentive. All in all a great meal in a classic British pub.
