Brilliant stay at the Old Mill Glen, in particular, was incredible. Juggling front desk, bar management including training new staff and still incredibly friendly and inviting. We arrived on the day for a last minute room and loved our stay so much we booked again for the following Sunday night! Rooms: The most amazing rain shower. It was so delightful! Bed was super comfy and lots of pillows to choose from! Breakfast is included which was super yummy! Bar: Friendly bar staff, yummy cocktail Very big portions! The food was super yummy! Brilliant kids menu
Had a meal here on Friday evening Despite it been very busy, the waitresses got our drinks and food order very quickly. They were friendly and polite. The food arrived and was cooked to perfection. In fact it's one of the best meals out. Well done on the service you provided. Thank you
Visited today with my family, managed to get a table immediately.... normally there can be a wait as the old mill can get very busy, particularly on Sundays. Sunday dinner was very good, meat, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, veg & gravy, all really nice. Mash wasn't to our liking bland/tasteless, but the rest of the dinner made up for that. Beef was lovely! Puddings were great, good choices, Good choice of quality ice creams too. Staff were very nice, efficient and polite. Bar was well stocked, they serve a good pint of guiness... We would certainly go back and recommend for food and drinks.
A little hidden gem. Recently decorated, rooms spacious, big bathroom with ample amenities. Great bed. Warm rooms. Breakfast, good hearty food. Staff very friendly and helpful. No lift. Definitely stay again, good price.
First time visit. Really busy Saturday night. Took around half an hour from ordering to receiving the meal but the waitress did advise when ordering. Had steak and ale pie with chips and garden peas. Steak was really tender and tasty. Think it cost £12 95?? Will definitely return
Much brighter lighting inside while eating than last time I visited . Think i preferred the atmosphere it created before but just personal opinion. I had slow cooked beef with leek dumpling. Beef was dry but did come with gravy beat. Much better when cooked in the gravy. Dumpling was tasteless pretty disappointing really as used to enjoy it here. Oh and in toilets no method of drying hands after washing them. Food & drinks: As above
I have been going to the old mill for over a decade now and this place is perfect! The waiters are friendly and kind, the food is great and the whole building is well kept and decorated. If I could give more stars I would, because this place is incredible.
We only went to The Old Mill for a meal. It was a celebration of a beloved uncle's birthday. The meals were very generous in portion size, and even though there were a lot of us they got everyone's meal out still piping hot and promptly. My only problem was my meal contained black pepper, which I cannot eat. It had not said anything on the menu in the meal description. I still ate most of it because it was delicious. My husband had to finish my meal. I had a lovely mango sorbet to cool and calm my mouth down. All in all a fantastic place for a meal out. I just wished we lived closer to go again.
Sunday lunch for Nephew's party. Potato I'd rather slide in than eat, beef so dry on par with Sahara desert and a rubber Yorkie you could throw at chef and cause permanent brain damage. The staff clearly know the food is awful cos didn't ask anyone if they enjoyed their meal! Its a shame cos its picturesque, clean and the staff are lovely
All round excellent. Stayed for one night after a Xmas dinner with a large group. Good Xmas menu. Food was spot on and lots. Good service. Bar prices ok. Room was modern and well presented. Definitely recommended. Rooms: Excellent, modern and well presented. TV, tea & coffee, large walk in shower. Excellent.
