Did the job. Great staff in cosy atmosphere. Accommodated a group of 10 gents without booking.

This pub has great character and the food is faultless. However to describe it as "friendly" often misses the mark. It can be extremely frustrating to wait for the inner circle clique on the way too many barstools (which block access for non regulars, who are often left waving ineffectually like goldfish in a bowl) to be served before non regulars are attended to. Not all bad, but just eat and book a table. Going there just for a quick drink is pointless.
