A bike shop & cafe in the heart of Saffron Walden. Fantastic coffee, wide range of cycling apparel, seasonal food and cakes and a great atmosphere.

Story

We're a cycling cafe in Saffron Walden serving fantastic coffee and selling a wide range of premium cycling apparel, bikes and accessories.

We welcome cyclists, cycling groups and anyone who likes a great cup of coffee!

Cycle racks and locks are available to lock up your bike, and we sell inner tubes and other spares alongside the rest of our cycling gear.

Our coffee is made with Hot Numbers beans (locally roasted in Cambridge) on a top of the range La Marzocco machine. We also offer a range of loose leaf teas. To go with your drink we serve cakes, pastries, soup and savoury snacks.

Open Monday - Saturday 9am to 5.30pm, and Sundays 9am to 4pm. 1-2 Market Walk, Saffron Walden, Essex.

I love this place. Being 50km from my house makes it the perfect place to do a "century" ride to. When you roll up you are greeted by a friendly chap who locks up your bike and gives you the key. Selection of hot drinks, cakes and bacon sandwiches is perfect for mid ride sustenance. The mix of small tables and big communal ones makes the place very welcoming. Free water on the tables and loads of high end bike gear to oggle at. What's not to love?

Fantastic bike shop and cafe. Everything you want as a cyclist, great coffee, water on the tables without having to ask, locks for the bikes, delicious food (I had a huge brownie which pretty much fuelled me all the way back to London) and reasonably priced. Great stock of exotic Italian bikes and accessories to drool over too. The owner was really friendly and helpful. I'd managed to get stung in my mouth by a wasp just before arriving. He kept coming over to check I was alright and not having a reaction. Will definitely be coming back.

This is the only place in town that I'll buy coffee from now. The hot numbers main roast has always been a favourite of mine and it's nice to see a shop selling coffee that they genuinely care about. Made properly with clean equipment by staff who are trained properly (unlike Costa / Starbucks where the actual barista standards are pretty lax, speaking from personal experience of working for one of the chains before). Cycling isn't personally my cup of tea but still an awesome place to get drinks / good quality hand made cakes and snacks. You get what you pay for.

It's a bike cafe primarily. Not coffee shop. Sweaty dripping Lycra clad people in clip clip shoes with lots kit come here. They lock bikes up, shop does free locks, sit inside and talk bike. There are bikes inside to buy, biking clothes, helmets, books and miscellaneous other stuff. Very nice coffee, tea is good too. Nibbles and cakes available too. Best bike cafe for miles.
