Went tonight for food with a friend . The food was delicious. I had lambs liver with onions . Which was fabulous mash , seasonal veggies . The lambs liver is the best I have ever had . I would highly recommend this place for a relaxing enjoyable meal . My friend really enjoyed her scampi and then home made cheesecake with ice cream . Fantastic food and service . 5 stars
I enjoyed my evening here. Two hand pulled beers and a nice local atmosphere. Didn't stay here or eat, but most of the eaters were ordering out, so I'm not sure that they are serving food? Nearby activities: The Elmet Kitchen is good if you like spicy Indian food.
Like the Oddies very much as a local pub. Good beer, friendly staff. A little disappointed that they no longer serve food at all.Service: 5/5
People are lovely, the rooms are basic so don't expect it to be the Hilton. You get what you pay for. However the rooms are clean and tidy with towels and toiletries. Tea and coffee making facilities. The room we had could have done with a chair. Other than that we'd stay again.
The worst room that we have ever stayed in by far. We were given room 4, a double bed which was against the wall so that I had to climb over my partner to get in or out. The mattress was not good quality and after 4 nights had a detrimental impact on our backs. My partner put the towels on the carpet to avoid stepping on the unidentifiable stains. There was no water pressure in the very dated and small shower, a bare mist. The toilet cistern took about 5 minutes to refill after a flush. Reporting this to the management resulted in no action being taken to rectify the situation. I ended up buying a shower head and replacing it myself to give us some water to shower in. Then the pull cord light switch in the bathroom stopped working and we were showering and using the toilet in the dark for 2 days despite reporting this to the bar staff. Also food is advertised as being available but this is not true. The bar doesn’t serve food anymore despite still advertising such both online and in the bar. The room had no facilities for storing clothes etc and was very uncomfortable overall. Walls were very thin and we had issues with noise coming from the other rooms. We were not the only ones that had issues with the accommodations. Our friends who were staying there had similar experiences. Even on checking out there was no staff available to hand back the key or to speak to about any of our issues. If I could have found any other place to stay we would have left immediately. Beware of the false statements advertising this property and stay elsewhere. Rooms: Terrible, dirty, noisy,
Fantastic pub, brilliant food, friendly staff and management Food & drinks: Lovely food, well cooked
No frills, clean, comfortable and welcoming. TV randomly turned itself on twice in the night. Window wouldn’t shut fully. Shower flow poor and thermostat stuck on red hot. Option for breakfast would’ve been good. We had friends who would also have stayed if breakfast was offered. But for the money and overall experience we would stay again. Issues mentioned could be easily fixed.
Booked a table for Sunday lunch for 4. Warm welcome when we entered the pub. Fixed Sunday lunch menu either 2 or 3 courses that are really well priced. Food was excellent, in particular I had theSteak and ale pie which is home made. Meals came in good time and no pressure from anyone to vacate table when we had finished our meal. Will definitely go again and try another night of the week.
I visited the Oddfellows Arms with my wife to have a meal at tea time. I use the Oddfellows on occasions for a tea time tipple, it's a very good pub and good staff always feels comfortable, never had a meal there, but often looked at the menu on boards where I normally sit and they always looked inviting. Well I must say the food we had was just 10 out 10. I had belly pork and boy was it good, my wife had a vegetarian dish and she loved it. Will certainly be eating there again, the service was also very good. Bar staff and the waitress were excellent.
Friendly atmosphere lovely fresh cooked food, fully recommend when in the area. It was steak Thursday so I had the Sirloin. Had booked night stay direct 1hr before arriving, saved on paying middle men, well worth the little effort in reading reviews nice relaxing stay.
