Set in a converted manor house in the lovely village of Hambleton, North Yorkshire, The Owl is recently refurbished with a new look pub and hotel rooms and a fresh new menu.

Story

The Owl at Hambleton is a converted Manor house, delightfully situated in a village just outside Selby. The Owl has 22 high quality ensuite bedrooms. The pub serves food all day and is the perfect place to unwind after a hard day at work or after exploring the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.

The Owl is an ideally placed hotel for business travellers and tourists alike, with easy links to the A1/M62. The Owl is situated between Leeds and York (Both city centres within 30/40 minutes drive). Local attractions include Temple Newsam, Tropical World, York Dungeons, and York Racecourse.

Had the lasagne. Disappointed. Slightly dry and overcooked salad consisting of 3 little gem lettuce leaves. At £14.99 wasn't value for money. The burger was good and on a previous visit for a family occasion food was excellent.Food: 2/5
I visited with a group of friends on a Friday evening to take advantage of the 30% off the new menu offer. We were greeted warmly and taken straight to our table is the busy dining area. I ordered the chicken kebab and my friends ordered the halloumi kebab and burgers. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the accompaniments were delicious. The burgers were really tall and full of flavour, chips were hot, crispy and bonus points for giving full bottles when asking for sauces! I will definitely be back!
Booked for me by my work. I always give 5 stars. Large comfortable room with kingsize bed. Fairly clean and with the usual tea and coffee offerings. No complimentary shampoo or shower gel unfortunately. I had to leave before breakfast so can't comment on it. Important context: My experience was a 1 night stay and does not represent this establishment in it's entirety. No-one in hospitality sets out to provide a poor experience. Anyone can have an off day.

We used to come here a lot. The food is good. Last year however they put their prices up a lot so we stopped going. I recall being asked to pay over £7 for two soft drinks. A money off voucher made it worth visiting again though. Apart from the prices this is a good place to eat.Food: 4/5
Excellent service, staff polite and friendly. Well done. Food was fabulous. 4 of us had a different selection of dishes - all dishes perfect. I had the mixed grill - the gammon was a bit dry and chewy but the rest of the meat was perfect. Thank you. We will be back soon Parking: Loads of parking Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible if you've got someone to hold all the doors open in a 4door vestibule!

A lovely clean friendly welcoming place. The staff all go out of their way to help and make sure everything is OK. One of the young girls suggested our next theatre trip when we apologised for having our phones in the way on the table. Thank you, really helpful, and we have booked! The rooms were lovely,very cozy beds, good size rooms and bathroom with everything you would need Would definitely recommend
Visited UK for a week I’m from Kansas City, MO USA. Highly recommend the Owl. I was the only American around but these folks were so nice and welcoming. Room was nice, food was great, pub was great I have absolutely no complaints. Thank you all for your kindness!
Excellent service from start to finish, especially with my dietary requirements. Separate menu lots of choice. The food was excellent I had Gammon and it was the best I'd ever eaten . Lovely attentive staff on duty, Will definitely go again.Food: 5/5
