The Nut Tree Inn

Booked online for the four of us to attend. My brother highly recommended as attended several times before. It was a treat for my fiancé as she has always wanted to go to a Michelin star restaurant. We were disappointed by the quality of the taster menu that has seemed to have gone down hill. 3 of us are qualified experienced chefs so when we returned one portion of raw cod the waiter tried to tell us that the fish contained more water than usual and was cooked. With 30 years experience i personally thought this was trying to pull the wool over our eyes. The roast duck, looked like it was sous vide and not roasted as the duck skin very soggy and not crisp. Also the mackerel course seemed lukewarm. However the other courses were great and in particular the passion fruit sorbet was great.

Was there august 2017.Food was lovely, staff was really friendly and welcoming but the only thing I wasn't 100% happy was the chairs 😔 wasn't comfortable enough otherwise it was a good dining experience. Only had the one picture as my phone was stolen.

We went to the Nut Tree with a couple of friends to celebrate our wedding anniversary and had their tasting menu. We were all blown away by the superb quality of the food and attention to detail. The staff were all really friendly and delightful and very knowledgeable about the food they were serving and the various wines we chose. We all came away trying to find a reason to go back soon!! Thank you for making our anniversary a day to remember.
