Established in 1904.
Working boathouse for over 100 years, the Cherwell Boathouse is an iconic Oxford punt station, restaurant and event space.

Story

Established in 1904 and still a family run working Boathouse and restaurant with 80 handmade punts in the water.

The punting season is mid March to mid October open 10am - dusk, dependant on the weather.

The well known local restaurant has a superlative wine list and is open all year round with an alfresco terrace on the decking in the summer.

In season the Tea-hut bar and cafe serves light food, snacks and refreshments throughout the day.

We have a large marquee overlooking the Cherwell, as well as a lower boathouse area for private bookings and events such as weddings, birthdays and corporate entertainment all year round.

Starter of Pork Ballotine was fantastic; great flavours and all balanced out. Main and dessert very good too. Setting was lovely and friendly service! Very reasonably priced for such a quality meal!

Very swanky dining about 25 me nites walk north of the centre of Oxford. Tasty food mixes modern and traditional styles. Go in the day for lunch looking over the Cherwell river - and people struggling with punts in the summer! You can rent punts right next to the restaurant. Definitely worth a visit!

Lovely location, friendly staff. Could think more about the link between the food on the plate and cutlery offered. I sometimes feel the elements are in place but there is lack of co-ordination in the execution.

Well ... what to say .
Lovely place to have a nice meal . The staff and the ( French  )  manager were amazing . Lovely food and I am sure I will be back again .

Divine dining, lovely staff, beautiful setting, amazing food and the best wine list for miles around. Who could ask for more?!
