Wow ! What service we received last night celebrating our wedding anniversary by having an evening meal here, we actually got married here. The staff went above and beyond and made sure that we were looked after, we even had a celebration plate delivered to the table with our puddings which was such a lovely touch. All the staff were so welcoming, with smiles too. The food, especially the steak was devine ! We will be back. Thank you to all for making our meal such an event
Absolutely love this hotel. Stayed here on our way to Yorkshire and what a find. Situated in the heart of Bakewell which is a lovely little town. Parking is limited but we had a lovely room overlooking the gardens. Food was really good, breakfast cooked tonight order which is unusual these days but the best thing was the staff. Every single person was happy, cheerful and kind to us but special thanks go to Holly the waitress/barmaid. She went above and beyond in my opinion. If i ever come here again I would definitely stay here. Thank you for a lovely stay
We stayed here for just one night but would've stayed the whole weekend if we didn't have to move on.nnAll the public rooms and areas are very much of an old fashioned polished dark wood style and the walls are full of paintings and prints.nnAll the staff were very polite and helpful. Our double room was spotlessly clean. As well as the usual tea and coffee supplies there was also a coffee machine and a couple of bottles of water for us. A nice touch on the writing pad was a handwritten note welcoming us to the hotel.nnSome reviews mention the rooms are a touch on the small side but on looking at the room it just meant there wasn't a bedside cabinet on one side of the bed.nnThe bathroom was spotlessly clean with a modern,powerful shower and a heated towel rail.nnWe had great food in the bar area and were able to have coffee and retreat into cosy chairs to chat with our friends afterwards.nnThe next morning we had breakfast in the main large dining room again, lots of polished dark wood with pictures and prints on every wall. Breakfast was cooked to order with lots of options but didn't take very long to arrive. Cereal, toast and fruit juices were available to help yourself.nnThe carpark is across the road from the hotel and possibly a little tight should you arrive later but as the hotel is in the town centre there's probably another option for parking.nnWe'll certainly be back
Beautiful hotel great Location. Lovely decor. What made it was the amazing staff, all so helpful and friendly. Nothing was toomuch trouble for any staff member. Excellent food. We stayed across in the courtyard, umbrellas provided in rooms which was useful. Nice and quiet. Will definitely stay again, for longer than one night! thank you so much. Boss should be proud of Team here.
Superb meal here at The Rutland Arms.nnWonderful decor in the dining room. A real mix of old and contemporary. A nice bar, coffee lounge and seating outside.nnWe went for the smoked mackerel pate and the beef shin croquettes with aged parmesan. Both were very tasty.nnWe both chose the roast chicken supreme, with all the usual accompaniments....roasties, veg, huge yorkies and gravy, then added some pigs in blankets. The chicken was cooked perfectly....a little crisp on the outside but still lovely and moist in the middle. All the veg were cooked perfectly al dente.nnFor pud.....berry souffle for me and bakwell pudding for her. Both delicious and a very nice way to finish the meal.nnApart from the food being on point and the surroundings beautiful, the staff and service was impeccable. Attentive without being over-bearing. Time enough for a quick chat.nnAfter the meal we retired to the outside cobbled terrace with a glass of white to enjoy in the afternoon sun and watch the world go by. A perfect end to a perfect Sunday lunch.
