Brilliant place for a drink. They have music and football on so something for everyone. Tom and the other staff very friendly, can't fault them. Very dog friendly too and they offer a variety of treats which is a brilliant idea to keep dogs entertained whilst having a drink. Beer garden too is fantastic with screens outside and plenty of space to chill. Pics of outside area They serve food too which I've not tried yet, but menu looks good. Highly recommended in Birmingham
Really great friendly atmosphere. Bar staff are lovely. Our Sunday lunch tasted home cooked and was amazing. Great selection of meat and veg, also vegetarian options, actually a gd selection vegetarian options. The choice of small, medium or large meals. Great decor. Also great selection of drinks, especially if you drink ale.
I have heard very good reviews about this pub over the years and decided to take some friends and family for a few drinks and a meal. A good selection of beers wines and lagers although they had run out of HPA on draft I was a bit surprised at the prices on the menu £12.95 for sausage and mash and other basic bar food chilli, burger, fish and chips etc My 10 ounce gammon came quickly with all the other meals but I was very disappointed as my gammon was obviously not 10 ounces in fact would struggle to be 6 ounces disguised with 2 eggs on top a few chips and a ridiculous amount of peas to fill the plate I did make a complaint to the waiter who doubles up as the bar man and he quickly agreed with me and apologised I was angry and upset but also hungry so I just ate the meal, shortly afterwards the waiter brought me another much larger gammon on a plate but sometime after we had all finished eating and stated that he too was disappointed that the chef/ cook wouldn’t come out to explain himself The waiter/ barman handled the situation well but obviously doesn’t get much support
Good Sunday Roast, pork and lamb were both great. Drinks and food service quick and staff are friendly. Would definitely return. Looks like a great place for a night out too!
Not been to this pub before... To be fair the staff were really nice so the the three stars are for them more than anything but the place didn't really entice me to stay and we didn't stay long. Our table was really sticky, with previous food on it... There was a drunken guy in there that ended up knocking his entire drink all over the place... ‍ Drinks came pretty quick though and were reasonably priced so an extra star for that but not really in a hurry to return
very slow service and cold food. ordered food at 1359, not busy, got food at 1452, and chased where food was after 40mins - 2 burger and chips one pie and mash, not a big order. Food was cold and server was like 'I'll tell manager' and disputed that the food had been sat in the kitchen. it was cooked well but cold, it has been sat around....also asked for mustard, did not arrive. Had some guests with me, we'd walked out to pub after a pint at the Pure Bar...should have eaten there.
Pleased to see they have a vegan option for their roasts. Nice surprise to have roast potatoes and mash. Red cabbage is always a welcome addition. Shame to not have a vegan Yorkshire Pudding or and option for dessert. Would recommend.
Was ok. Had better Sunday lunches for a cheaper price. Not much veg, lamb however was very tender and lovely. Was in and out in under an hour, food came out very quickly, sometimes I like a little slower service on a Sunday but that's just me I suppose. Heard Red Lion is better despite same owners. Preferred the old Lord Clifden but will see what it's like when restrictions are over before can truly compare although decor inside is noticeably more boring and plain.
Great first experience of the Lord Clifden. Recommended as good sports pub and didn't disappoint, lots of inside and outside screens, great beer and good atmosphere. Shame about the result for the 2018 Champions league final but will be back again soon.
An all-round great pub, perfect for a quiet drink during the day while getting some tasty food but livens up at night and weekends. The place also has one of the best beer gardens in the city, thats definitely worth a visit when the sun shines.
