Nice traditional pub with an out door dining area. Lovely friendly staff. Great food. I particularly enjoyed the nachos. Dog friendly
I can see why it's popular, however the wife and I thought the same about what would have made it more enjoyable. We sat upstairs in what would be a very pleasant and warm setting but the room was dominated by rather large flat screen. Not a problem if West Ham v Leicester is of interest to you. I have no idea what they put on at other times. The service is friendly and efficient but I believe they were a "man down" which made it difficult for them. Our Sunday lunch meal was good, apart from the beef which was a bit rubbery and the frozen roast potatoes which were hard, dry and over seasoned. I strongly suggest these need to be replaced. Generous portions and a nice mix of vegetables hidden under the meat and Yorkshire made up for any short comings.
The Sunday lunch was fantastic. The decided to have a dessert. I chose a crumble. Well that was a waist of nearly a fiver. It was about an inch high and less than 3 inches width and length. EVERYONE of my friends commented how shocked and how tiny it was. That put a real downer on the end if the evening. I did tell staff to mention it to the cook with no come back.
Food was lovely, portions great and price really good for what you get. Staff friendly, but the decor is dated. We were given one menu between 3 people, cold inside would have been nice to have the fire on to cosy up because of the wet weather. Locations is good. All in all pleasant just in need of a facelift.
The chap who owned Rebel Chicken now owns this place and we were told we can get the same wings here. No. Just average pub food. Nice garden at the back though.
A group of us came here Friday night as part of a crawl but we ended up staying. Very traditional boozer with a nice selection of drinks. Donkey Kong pale ale is a shout. Has some of your classics such as Carling and Guinness too. Also big shoutout to Arron for being so accommodating.
Turned up after booking for the Sunday roast really disappointed after waiting about 30mins to even get served a drink when our lamb roast came out was served with chips no Yorkshire no roast potatoes no mash no mint sauce it was by far the worst meal I ever had on my birthday. I really had high hopes if I could take the one star away I would DO BETTER blaming the manger who the was not in on the day for not ordering enough produce. The pic of ky poor roast will be posted on their Fb page as I will tag them.
Proper traditional pub. Good selection of beers , cosy atmosphere, friendly staff . Good choice of background music ie 60s 70s. & 80s if you are a certain age.
Was recommended as somewhere to eat, tbh without that I would have walked straight by and not gone in, barstaff very friendly and food was some of the nicest I've had, better than alot of so called restaurants 6*
Quality little boozer, friendly staff and fantastic beer garden. Decent selection of drinks, good for watching the footy too. Didn't eat here but food looked amazing too, shout out to Jack behind the bar for his excellent service and friendly style, all other bar staff were excellent too just never got their name. Top 3 pub I've been to while working away.
