Really nice hotel in an amazing location with great views. Food was really good and staff were too. Rooms were pretty average, but still comfortable. My only issue was the curtains in the room do not do a great job at blocking out light, and so room was not as dark as I like when trying to sleep, but that's just a personal preference.
All praise to Sat Nav because without it I would have struggled to find this wonderful pub. Former Ward's house I'm sure I found this in the Good Beer Guide in the early 90s located in beautiful surroundings with great views. It's worth seeking out. Must be lovely on a decent summer's evening.
We wanted somewhere with views ... and wow did this place deliver! Even in fog and drizzle the views are stunning. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, the food tasty and plentiful, the atmosphere lovely, and dogs and muddy boots welcome overshoes provided!. And with the walking in the area being so outstanding this is an absolute gem of a find.
This was our local pub during our stay in Lathkil . The food was great, and the staff were very helpful. The Hotel looks out onto the dale. It's so beautiful and peaceful... Will be visiting again soon.. Walkability: Fantastic walking opportunities. Amazing scenery... Visiting the Roaches is a must..
A nice pub but the food was mediocre considering the price and the service at the bar was terrible. I have never seen a barman so slow, he was taking longer than you would expect it to take to mix a fancy cocktail to pull an ordinary pint. Amazing views over the Lathkil Dale.Service: 2/5
Great food and ale pub with by far the best view from any pub I have ever visited ! Food ..pie of the day was lamb, black pudding and wholegrain mustard with chips, French beans and carrots ..wow ! I asked for gravy and got the wholegrain mustard gravy that was in the pie...amazing ! Well worth the £15.95 !! Superb !
Located at the peak of a hill with a beautiful view on peak district fields, It's a peaceful spot to stop at after a long hike. The food is decent for the price and the ambiance is calm.
After a walk through Lathkill Dale we called in for lunch. Friendly staff, good choice if beer and lovely food. Dog friendly in the bar so it meets all our wishes.Service: 5/5
Six guys enjoyed a walk n the wonderful countryside and came back to enjoy a pre Booked Christmas lunch. The food was excellent, the service was great and the ales well kept. Six guys walked away very full and content. A highly recommended hostelry. Food & drinks: Top class and hearty festive fare.
Didn’t stay at the hotel but visited the pub/restaurant. Beautiful view, great food and a lovely pint! Would definitely come again!Service: 5/5
