A beautiful, hidyhole. Perfect for fine dining plus relaxing area by the bar. Highly recommend this place. Food is absolutely stunning.
Eaten here lots of times and it’s always been top notch. Something has changed. Staff are great, place is great but… starter lovely but portions a bit mean. Main meal I had fish very small portion but nice, roast potatoes like leather, under cooked vegetables. Pudding great. It’s not a cheap place to eat. I could get a better main course a lot cheaper just about anywhere else in the area.
Date night without the kids! Lovely atmosphere and great decor in the pub. Food was fantastic - perfect sirloin steak and newly added chicken kiev. Prices reasonable too. Only slight issue is that the waiter didn't know enough about the food so had to check with the kitchen for a few things.
Our favourite pub-restaurant in our local area. We have celebrated many many Happy occasions here. The food is spectacular, as are the drinks. The building is so well designed and the staff are always friendly and helpful. You should book ahead, you won't be disappointed
Stopped for lunch on the way from Cornwall to the Lake District. Lovely pub, delicious food we had the bream which was beautifully cooked. Very friendly and helpful staff. Loved the interiors and beautifully clean toilets!
Very poor experience.Under cooked pork. The veg consisted of 1 small sweet corn cut into 2 plus 2 very small spring onions.I think they are trying to be upmarket with fancy names but not succeeding. I went home and a ate a bowl of cereal. I will definitely not go again.
This pub is beautiful as is the food and staffing, but they really need to sort out the heating. Both times I have been, I've been cold.. Visited today, no fire on as they had run out of logs, that's fair enough, in that case then the radiators should be put on.
First visit since it re-opened. The staff were pleasant and the food pretty good but the menu was really lacking. The old Jockey did great sharing board starters. There were no starters listed we felt worth having . The mains were the same- the various steaks had left the menu and we struggled to choose what to have- there were 7 of us. The service was ok although we would have ordered more drinks had we been asked before we had finished eating. The food was nicely cooked but the menu needs attention and the atmosphere needs a boost. Overall it was ok but we won’t be rushing back.
My friend and I had an amazing meal here for Sunday lunch today. The food was perfect and it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Very enjoyable visit.
Very much liked the place the nice evening ambiance staff were friendly but over worked or seemed rushed but overall nice experience. I had the battered fish which was quite oily and chips were not cooked enough but was still enjoyable in my opinion. my wife had the duck and she loved it no complaints she said it was really really good. We had the sticky toffe pudding for desert and it was delicious.
