The Nightingale

About

Whether your after a pint of our guest ale or a meal from our new menu, our cosy country pub will always be there to welcome you in.

Story

The Nightingale in Spetchley is a country pub & restaurant oozing rural charm and rustic character. Our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savoring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

Book a table online via Facebook or our website or phone the pub and enjoy a spot by our roaring log-fire. Or make the best of the British summertime by eating alfresco in our pretty beer garden.

A little pub history:
From the early 20th century, the Nightingale was known as the Berkeley Knot, and before that, the Crown Inn. The inn drew much of its trade from visitors cycling through White Ladies Aston who stopped for refreshment en route. The distinctive sloping red tile roofs and whitewash walls of The Nightingale Inn make it a landmark near Spetchley Park. This area has seen many battles, the most noteworthy during the Civil War.

Pretty location, easy to get to by car, plenty of parking. Lovely traditional inside with pub and dining areas. Excellent service. Good range of beers. Great vegan menu with lots of options. Only tried the veggie burger but it was superb.

We had the festive menu unfortunately no crackers but not a big issue. For £18.99 it was good value. We had the mushroom starter which was very good, large portion and tasty but the pate although tasty was very small. For mains the turkey which everyone appeared to enjoy and the rib of beef was gorgeous. Would definitely recommend and go back.

Unfortunately very disappointing. We ordered 2 starters and 2 mains, mains arrived but no starters!! The steak was ordered medium , it came out well done. Not at all happy, complained to manager and they offered to cancel bill. Once again very disappointed. Wendy Groves

Recently refurbished chain pub. The building itself is beautiful and extremely inviting, with period features and (often) a large fire to welcome you! The menus are your typical pub grub at reasonable prices. Sensible selection of drinks and the staff are always excellent.

Nice ambiance and really good food at a reasonable price. Service was good and staff friendly and helpful. My Sea Bass was excellent. We were a party of eleven and everyone was pleased with their meal.
