We really enjoyed our trip to the Jackdaw and were made welcome. The staff were attentive, the food was tasty and the pub is quaint and well laid out. There's a really nice looking beer garden and plenty of parking.
Nice pub lovely flowers and seating outside. Sadly we visited on Saturday for lunch but by 1pm we could not order anyfood
A must for any fan of the film the Battle of Britain . Love the location and the fact the front of the pub is recognisable. Food is more expensive and to be honest was nothing special. The staff are so lovely. Thank you for a nice afternoon
Very friendly welcome. Lovely bar area with a decent sized restaurant out the back. Some interesting photos and battle of Britain memorabilia on the walls.
Excellent food and good beer. They have a good range of gluten free and vegan options. The gluten free fish gujons had an incredibly light tempura batter. I also had a risotto which was perfect! Very friendly staff, and overall a good atmosphere. In the summer the garden at the back is lovely, and feels completely secluded. By the way the toilets are the cleanest of any pub or restaurant I’ve ever been in. As they say, judge a restaurant by how clean its toilets are… I’ll definitely be going back!
Nice little pub. We went here after visiting the Battle of Britain museum and had a roast. Overall, the service was good and the waitresses/bar staff were very nice. The roast was pretty good, the meat portion / quality on all of roasts was not the best. The beef had lots of fat/grissle. The sides + veggies were good. Not bad at all just not the best for the relatively high price point. Nice country pub. Good beers and a nice overall pub feel. Worth a stop. :
Great traditional pub. Food excellent, amazed at variety of vegetables served with Sunday meal. Great value for money. Staff attentive and very pleasant. Will definitely be returning
Such a lovely girl serving our table, she looked after us very well. The food was very tasty and piping hot. 2 courses for £15 very reasonable, perfectly sized lunchtime portions. My sticky toffee pudding was lovely but the 2 ladies who had the chocolate torte were a little disappointed. Medium glass of Chardonnay £7. The verdict from the group was that they would definitely meet up again for lunch.
Came for a late lunch on a sunny Autumn Saturday and it was the perfect spot for a couple of drinks and a really tasty plate of fish and chips. The benches outside the front get the afternoon sunshine so we enjoyed a Bloody Mary and a pint outside before coming inside to the cosy interior seating just behind the bar before the main dining area. The service was great, the batter super crispy and delicious with excellent chips and perfect mushy peas - generous portions of all there. We were all too full for pudding but they looked great too, as did the cheese board which I’ll have to come back for!
4 of us had 2 course Sunday lunch here, 2 pork, 1 lamb and 1 nut roast and 4 different puddings. All meals were tasty, hot and filling. Timings between sitting down and servings was just about right for us. Staff were polite and courteous. Would definitely return when in the area.
