The staff were nice and friendly. The food was great, I had the pork loin, a proper piece of pork nicely cooked on a bed of REAL mash not the usual rubbish that has been through a blender and squoze out through an icing bag! The room was small but adequate, in fact it took me right back to my childhood when there was no double glazed window to insulate you from the outside world and you had to wrap up tight in the bedclothes to keep warm.
A pub with history, lots of rooms and space plus a great garden. Good selection of beers and wines. Food menu is good and my lunch was delicious. Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy car parking.
The Inn On The Green was an absolute highlight of my girlfriend and my Europe trip from Australia. We stayed 4 nights in a beautiful, clean and cosy room. The staff are unbelievably friendly and are down for a laugh and chat. Both the food and drink was unreal; real hearty, house made and crafted with love type food. I couldn't recommend this place enough, and I know that I will be recommending it to friends and family travelling this way. Thank you for a wonderful holiday away from our holiday.
First visit for a meal to this historic coaching inn and I don't have a bad word to say. There was a warm friendly welcome from staff. There was an excellent selection of modern craft beers both cask and keg including Cloudwater, Verdant and Deya. It's one of the few pubs to offer vegetarian Wellington, either mushroom and cashew or beetroot and squash. Our meals were excellent and good value for money. The pub has not been spoiled my needless modernisation or 'gastroisation' if that's a word. It was nice and warm. Furthermore they have a pool table and a bar billiards table, both in good condition. The pub is quite large with a restaurant area also. Rooms are available although I didn't stay. Roast for two, 4½ pints of craft beer and four games of billiards was £60 including tip. Highly recommended and we will return.
It was a quiet day when I stayed at The Inn on the Greem. That said, the food was lovely, as were the staff. The room I occupied was comfortable, clean and very functional, even if the bathroom could do with some modernisation, albeit, everything worked well..Rooms: 5/5
Cudos to the staff here for putting up with the most negative female customer in the world sitting to the right of our table who was verbally bashing everything. The Ham, Eggs & Chips was nice, made from large duck eggs. WiFi was a bit weak, and the dark haired barmaid had a really nice smile.
There is so much to say about this gem of a pub. Ample parking to the front / side so literally never ANY issue getting a space. The staff are warm, welcoming, and always happy to make recommendations, whether from the extensive drinks selection the mulled wine is DIVINE or the food menu including prawns by the pint or half as well as fantastic steaks and burgers and all sorts. Huge beer garden including a charming kids play area, as well as a sheltered section with sofas for even the rainiest of al fresco evenings, not to mention the green out the front is perfect for pre-pint dog walks or a run around with the kids don't worry, there's a kids menu also!. Inside you'll find squishy comfy sofas, a peaceful country pub atmosphere, and a pool table in a private space, should you wish to indulge. The pub is also just down the road from a convenience store, so you're quids in if you're staying in one of the Inn on the Green's B&B rooms and fancy a Twix. Keep an eye out for the pub-hosted events, including a Christmas Market, beer festivals, motorcycle meets, and BBQs. The true jewel in Ockley's crown.
Went for Sunday lunch and we had excellent food, lovely pub clean and tidy with loads of seating, and dog friendly, we sat outside as it was nice and sunny. Also no problems with dealing with someone who was gluten and dairy free. We will be back if we are near that area again.
Nice pub ..parking is Okay and food was really nice . I also found a love for Bar Billiards.
Nice quiet dog friendly pub, great selection of beers. Surprised to see Verdant and Deya on tap
