An excellent dining experience with superlative food but let down by the service. The pub is lovely. Really nicely decorated, feels welcoming and warm but still a sense of modernism. Great for smaller and bigger groups. The food is fantastic. Really really excellent. Had the Sunday lunch - superb. Probably one of the best I’ve had. Everything was done very well. Giving a 4 stars as the service let it down. Service was friendly and good when we had it. Otherwise it was quite inattentive and slightly frustrating. I think they just need more servers. Otherwise, highly recommend
This pub never ceases to amaze. The prices are actually very good for the value you get. Everything is absolutely incredible quality from the food to the service to the actual building that is so beautiful and quaint. But the star of the show of course has to be the garden that they've converted to a half outdoor half indoor space with the teepees! when sitting near the windows in the front in the summer they are open and it feels like you're outside! And yet it's so cozy and warm in the winter! The menu changes frequently so even more of a reason to go as often as possible! You can't be disappointed with this, a must try for sure!
We went here for a Christmas dinner. The pub was warm and snug it was very clean inside but it retains lots of very old traditional feel. Table service was excellent, and the food was outstanding, specially the sprouts which normally HATE they were delicious. This is not a cheap pub, a pint of beer 5-6 quid, a large class of wine 12.... The four of us ate and drank well for £50 a head with the cost of living and the quality, not too unreasonable . It was good so good in fact we were tempted to ask how things had been cooked! A remarkable meal.
Had a great evening at the Queen's Head. A little pricey but meal was absolutely fabulous and well worth the visit. Would definitely recommend a visit. Welcomes dogs too so great bonus.
What a great place! Asked the locals what was the 'best pub' and was directed here. Great drinks selection. Nice interior. Spectacular tiered garden. Well worth a visit !
Exceptional food, honestly really really good, will be coming back for more. The service was also brilliant, everyone was super friendly. Luckily it wasn't too busy and the tipi was heated to a comfortable temperature. The pork and cider pie was fantastic, possibly the best we've had. I don't know what was in the butter that came with the focaccia but it was delicious.
Lovely pub with great food choices. A beautiful terrace under a generous teepee tent. Attentive and friendly staff. Overall an unforgettable experience.
Manu, Archie and the team at the Queens Head always make our visit to the Queens Head absolutely perfect. From the warm smiles on arrival and the lovely conversation to the table, to the incredible decor altered for each season! It is absolutely perfect. The food is by far the best in any pub I have been to for a long time. I have tried many dishes and haven’t had anything I haven’t loved. Anything from the lovely starters and sharing dishes, to the steak, to the seafood risotto and not to forget the chicken burger! The chocolate mousse is also to die for. The service is second to none and Manu especially has gone above and beyond for me over the visits to ensure I have a lovely table and the occasional glass of Prosecco!. If you are even considering going to this pub then just go and you will not regret it! If I could give 6 stars I would.
Outdoor dining in the tent was better than expected even with temperatures in the low 50's. The food was very good. Started with focaccia which was nice although a bit greasy. For the main, I had the Cote du Boeuf. Great cook and seasoning on the meat. For the most part a good dinimg experience. It was on the expensive side and the service was terribly slow although our server was great when we did see him. May have to do with covid and getting experienced staff.
We come here alot of Sundays, they have the best roast, and it's very tasty and filling, definitely make a visit if you can, also make sure you book ahead.
