Went in with my mum for a roast on Sunday. The new landlord was absolutely lovely, he is a real people person. The pub is a real family affair. They all made us feel so incredibly welcome and made such a fuss of my 2 dogs bringing over chews for both of them. I would happily stop in there for a drink on my own. I can guarantee you are likely to meet a friendly face and be greeted with a warm smile. The food was hearty, home cooked and incredibly good value. The portions were large and very welcome after a long day outside in the cold. There is a decent car park, not visible from the road. This pub is a gem, a nice change from the numerous gastro pubs locally. I am looking forward to going back and I suggest everyone does the same .
Good food and excellent beer, Gales HSB on tap. Unfortunately a bit slow on serving the food, only one chef and one bar lady. They need to work out a better system for cooking for a large group, there were 12 of us, than taking the orders one at a time and cooking the orders one at a time as they arrived. Would have sped things up if they had cooked all the fish and chips together. Possibly the chef was not aware the orders were for the same group!
Staff very friendly! Went in for a meal and a couple of drinks for the football was amazing very impressed. Highly recommend. Also sky sports and bt sports has just been brought in!
One of the worst pub lunches I’ve ever had. Unfortunately 2 of our 4 lunches were not edible. A chicken salad with very oily croutons and red meat chicken. A croque monsieur that was also soaked in oil.
Great little pub in the small village of Westcott! The food here is great and staff are friendly. We were able to sit outside on the raised decking as the weather was lovely, it was really enjoyable. The only downside to this pub is it needs a refurbishment or least a new coat of paint on the inside and out, and the decking could do with some new floorboards as many don't seem stable. But overall the food and respectful staff make up for this. Looking forward to my next visit! :
Was going to pop in. Absolutely filthy car park, full of litter around the pub; hardly a warm welcome! Went elsewhere in the end.
Dog friendly place. the service was a little slow, waited over 20 minutes for four coffees and twice as much for sandwiches.
Great pub. Friendly staff. Clean. Dogs are welcome. Staff gave bowl of water for the dog.Service: 5/5
The website has the wrong contact details I’m guessing as I’ve tried calling and emailing requesting a reservation but seems absolutely impossible, loads of other pubs about so I’ll just go elsewhere looks like…
Limited menu but good selection within that. Carnivore, veggie and vegan. Scallops and bacon with sides were delicious. Mushroom risotto good too. Desert was a little disappointing. Deconstructed banoffe. Should have tried another. The menu didn't warn of the assembly. Decent beer. Pleasant outdoor surroundings. Good service. Hi again.
