I was exceptionally allured by the amount of people in costumes on 30 October 2021. It was nice to see. I then looked at this place's web site and they always seem to be doing something interesting. Although I did not stay for a drink, the atmosphere seemed to be welcoming.
Great pub with a good selection of tap beers. Regular open mic music and voice night's. They also do a bring your own vinyl night which sounds great. At last a pub thinking out side of the sport on tv box.

Decent pub, about 4 miles to get to the toilets, not the worst pub in dorking.
The Star is how pubs used to be. Beer, wine spirits, etc in a basic but comfortable furnishings. No poncey overpriced food menu, or fake Irish decor, it is just a traditional boozer. it is also a place for live music and has recorded music playing at s good volume. Not the place for s romantic first date.
Fabulous atmosphere love the open mike night. Friendly and fun.
Nice local music pub in Dorking. Quite small, but gets a good crowd of people. Bar staff very good as are the beers and ciders for a small pub. Some nights they have live music as well as bring your own vinyl night. Not sure if they still have classic film nights. Interesting photos on the walls of the toilets, consisting of photos of punk and rock bands from the 60's and 70's. Worth a visit.
Interestingly different pub compared to the others in town. Quite an eclectic mix of drinkers here. The pub isn't massive and so seating is a bit of a premium hence the crowd often spills out onto the pavement outside. It's definitely a friendly pub with a relaxed and alternative atmosphere. Not sure if they do food but the beer here is very good. Decent selection and what they have is kept well. Definitely one of the better pubs in the town and very nice to drink outside of on a summer's evening.
2 stars from a female and 4 from a male!! Very clean and a nice location. However, although I'm more than able to have a beer or 3 with the guys this comes very much across as a blokes' place. Me and my sciatica went to loo....upstairs ... saw men's loos... women's had no sign so it was frustrating trying to find them. Saying that my bloke thought the staff were friendly, enjoyed the live music and thought the place was great!!
Always wanted to come inside this pub and today did so for a lovely cup of tea at 4.30pm when all tea shops were closing! Very friendly and welcoming service. But it's so tiny. I wonder how they fit everyone in for the Open Mic sessions. One day I must try and get here for one of their evenings to find out.
