We visited The Huff Cap with our two dogs tentatively after reading the reviews but we're totally impressed by the beautiful decor, the warm welcome, friendliest staff and cracking food. We popped in for lunch and had a couple sandwiches which were delicious, soft tasty bread full of filling which came with a big portion of chips on the side. We also stayed for coffee. We asked why the place didn't have better reviews and apparently it's been shut for a while and was taken over by new management mid-December 2021. If you read the reviews from then this place should be 5*. My only constructive feedback which I think others have commented is the choice of background music, if you like Radio2 you'll be fine however it wasn't anywhere near enough to not give a 5* review We'll be back with the family and will give the restaurant a go. Took some photos to show others how beautiful it is. Thank you for having us.
I really liked it here, great environment and space. Super Sunday lunch, great concept of selecting the main and then adding the sides to build your own meal. Will definitely go again and recommend.
This is a great pub! Having recently moved into the area, this pub has become a favourite of ours. The staff are friendly and welcoming, great selection of drinks. Food is amazing and we’ve now tried quite a few different dishes. The seating around the bar area is cozy with some seating areas privately tucked away in little rooms with real fires roaring in the winter and the restaurant is light and tastefully decorated. Definitely worth a visit, and highly recommend the food!
Newly reopened, good food. The atmosphere is very pleasant. Personally the music is a little too greatest hits / radio 2 for my taste but my wife enjoyed it. Very friendly staff were very accommodating for our impromptu lunch visit. 2 mains and 2 soft drinks were £31. There is a table service and bar area but the menu is the same. The Godmother Burger was thick and satisfying, very tasty and chips were crisp and well seasoned. My wife enjoyed her ceasar salad but said the dressing was a little salty. Chicken was lovely and the meal was a satisfying size. We were tempted into dessert of churros for an additional £6. Unfortunately these were gooey in the middle, as if not cooked quite long enough or oil wasn't hot enough. Minor issues wouldn't discourage us from coming again.
Outstanding breakfast!! Booked in for a Saturday morning treat, what a delight. More than reasonable prices, great service, and amazing good quality food! This is a proper breakfast with great ingredients. Get yourself down here asap
The staff went out of the way to accommodate a table for 1. They opened up a snug area of the restaurant and even got a fire going for me. The food came quickly and tasted delicious!!! I’ll be visiting again if work brings me back to the area again.
We were first time customers, pleasantly surprised by this place, nice decor, excellent Sunday Roast,very good desserts all at reasonable prices. Liked that they didnt automatically put service charge on. Not against tipping. We will be back.
Fantastic local pub serving heat food, Purity beers and a great community atmosphere. There's also a fantastic chatty cafe on Thursday afternoons from 1-3pm. It's my local and I love it
We had a lovely afternoon watching the rugby. Super atmosphere, staff were so lovely, serving drinks at the table, water bowl for the dog, happy and smiley, food lovely and sensibly priced. Probably the most impressed I have been with a pub for a while. All round a lovely experience.
2 course lunch for £16 is good value. Good service. Pub very quiet for a Friday, so lacking in atmosphere.
